Format
The Cup was a
match play
Match play is a scoring system for golf in which a player, or team, earns a point for each hole in which they have bested their opponents; as opposed to stroke play, in which the total number of strokes is counted over one or more rounds of 18 h ...
event played over four days. The teams were divided into four four-team groups. After three rounds of round-robin play, the top team in each group advanced to a single elimination playoff.
In each team match, the three players were paired with their opponents and played 18 holes at
