History
The 100 Marathon Club was formed sometime in the late 1980s, early 1990s, by a group of U.K. Runners. At the time, and in the words of Roger Biggs – one of the former and longest served Chairpersons of the 100 Marathon Club and still active with running, "...We kept bumping into each other at Marathons around the Country and we were telling each other what our totals were 40/50/60 Marathons. Then, one year, someone had 100 Marathons completed and we all said this call for a celebration and we were together; we decided to form a Club exclusively for 100 Marathoners, and what better name than the 100 Marathon Club."Membership
The 100 Marathon Club has Two Types of Membership: Full and Associate. Full Membership is available to anyone who has run and completed at least 100 marathons or Ultra Marathons (ultras), whereas for Associate Membership, a runner only needs to have run at least 50 marathons or Ultras. On reaching their 100th Marathon, an Associate Member – in becoming a Full Member, is also able to obtain a Commemorative Medal from the Club. The 100 Marathon Club has a Code of Conduct and a number of Polices – including an "Anti-Bullying and Harassment Policy" – that all Members are expected to read and familiarise themselves with.Club Activities
