İstasyon Academy Of Fine Arts
İstasyon Academy of Fine Arts (in Turkish İstasyon Sanat Akademisi ) is a private art institution founded by architect Ömer Ferda Düzenli and artist/painter Hülya Düzenli in Fındıklı, İstanbul in 1980. Artists Nurullah Berk and Sabri Berkel’s concepts on modern education and culture influenced the discipline and views of the institute. İstasyon Academy/school of Fine Arts was the first institution to focus on widespread art education in Turkey. It was modeled after the workshops of Andre Lhote and Fernand Léger in Paris. In its early years, sculptor Seyhun Topuz, artist/painter Tomur Atagök and artist/painter Gün İrk laid the foundations of its teaching doctrine. In later years, sculptor Mehmet Şenel, artist/painter Adnan Çoker and musician/composer Timur Selçuk further developed their work. Tomur Atagök
Tomur Atagök (born 1939) is a Turkish painter, musicologist, author and professor. Early life and education Atagök was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1939 and in 1959, she graduated from the American College for Girls. She continued her education in plastic arts at the Oklahoma State University with a B.F.A., and between 1962 until 1964 at the California College of the Arts (CCA). She completed her M.A. in plastic arts in 1965 at the University of California, Berkeley. Artwork Atagök's first solo exhibition was held in 1966, at the İstanbul Devlet Güzel Sanatlar Gallery. She had numerous personal and collective exhibitions all over the world, including England, France, Egypt, Algeria and the US. Timur Selçuk
Timur Selçuk (2 July 1946 – 6 November 2020) was a Turkish composer, pianist, singer and conductor. Biography One of the greatest Turkish composers, Timur Selçuk was the son of Turkish neo-classical music composer Münir Nurettin Selçuk and actress Şehime Erton. His great-uncle was the Ottoman Grand Vizier Abdurrahman Nurettin Pasha. His younger brother is jazz drummer and composer Selim Selçuk. His older sister was Meral Selçuk who sang with her father in his concerts. Timur Selçuk started playing piano at the age of 5 and gave his first concert at age 7.
