Östgötapendeln
Östgötapendeln is a commuter rail system that stretches from the historical provinces Östergötland into Småland in Sweden. Östgötapendeln started its operation June 12, 1995 with the line Norrköping- Linköping- Mjölby- Tranås. In 2010–2015 Östgötapendeln trains continued to Nässjö and Jönköping. They have since been replaced by Krösatågen there. A second line, Norrköping-Linköping-Mjölby- Motala, opened in April 2013, with two new stops at Skänninge and Motala. The frequency of the service is 4 trains an hour between Norrköping and Mjölby in peak hours, with 2 going to Motala and 2 to Tranås. Skänninge () is a locality situated in Mjölby Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden with 3,140 inhabitants in 2010. It lies about 10 km north of the municipal seat Mjölby. Before the local government reform in 1971 the ''City of Skänninge'' was a municipal entity of its own. Motala
Motala () is a locality and the seat of Motala Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden with 29,823 inhabitants (41,956 in the entire municipality) in 2010. It is the third largest city of Östergötland, following Linköping and Norrköping. Motala is situated on the eastern shore of Lake Vättern and is regarded as the main centre of both the Göta Canal and the surrounding lake region. History Motala Church dates from the 13th century. History and profile ''Östgöta Correspondenten'' was first published in Linköping in 1838. The founder of the paper was Henrik Bernhard Palmær. Nässjö
Nässjö () is a Urban areas in Sweden, locality and the seat of Nässjö Municipality, Jönköping County, Sweden with 16,678 inhabitants in 2010. History For many years, Nässjö was a rural village with agriculture as the dominant occupation. The turning point was the construction of the Swedish railways, Swedish railway system. The Södra stambanan, southern main line railway, finished in 1864, passed through Nässjö. Later, other railways were inaugurated, whereby Nässjö, due to its geographical location in the country, became an important junction.
