Éric Pacôme N'Dri
Éric Pacôme N'Dri (born 24 March 1978) is an Ivorian athlete specializing in the 100 metres. Participating in the 2004 Summer Olympics, he achieved third place in his 100 metres heat, thus securing qualification to the second round. He then achieved eighth place in his second round heat, thus failing to secure qualification to the semi-finals. He also competed at the World Championships in 2001 and 2003. N'Dri has won two medals in 100 metres at the Jeux de la Francophonie; a bronze medal in 2001 and a silver medal in 2005. Ivory Coast, also known as Côte d'Ivoire, officially the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, is a country on the southern coast of West Africa. The 100 metres, or 100-meter dash, is a sprint race in track and field competitions. The shortest common outdoor running distance, the dash is one of the most popular and prestigious events in the sport of athletics. It has been contested at the Summer Olympics since 1896 for men and since 1928 for women. The inaugural World Championships were in 1983. The reigning 100 m Olympic or world champion is often named "the fastest man or woman in the world". 2001 World Championships In Athletics
The 8th World Championships in Athletics, under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations, were held at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada between 3 August and 12 August and was the first time the event had visited North America. The music for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies was composed by Canadian composers Jan Randall and Cassius Khan. The ceremonies also featured a 1000 voice choir, and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Ahmed Douhou (born 14 December 1976 in Bouake) is a French sprinter who specializes in the 200 metres. He switched nationality from his birth country Côte d'Ivoire in 2002. He won the bronze medal in 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2002 European Championships, together with teammates Leslie Djhone, Naman Keïta and Ibrahima Wade. On the individual level he reached the semifinals of the 1997 IAAF World Indoor Championships, and participated at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics.
