Ibrahim Meité (born 18 November 1976) is a Côte d'Ivoire sprinter who specializes in the 100 and 200 metres. Biography Meité finished seventh in 4 x 100 metres relay at the 1993 World Championships, together with teammates Ouattara Lagazane, Jean-Olivier Zirignon and Frank Waota. Participating in the 2000 Summer Olympics, he achieved fourth place in his heat, thus failing to make it through to the second round. Mariam Bah (born 6 July 1976) is a two-time Olympic taekwondo competitor and a multiple-time medalist at the African Taekwondo Championships from Côte d'Ivoire. She first competed at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, where she had an honor of carrying the national flag at the opening ceremony. Bah was eliminated in the first round after being defeated by Korea's Jang Ji-Won, with a score of 2–9. Because her opponent advanced into the final round and won the gold medal, Bah qualified for the repechage bout, where she was lost to Spain's Sonia Reyes in the first round. 2001 World Championships In Athletics
The 8th World Championships in Athletics, under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations, were held at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada between 3 August and 12 August and was the first time the event had visited North America. The music for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies was composed by Canadian composers Jan Randall and Cassius Khan. The ceremonies also featured a 1000 voice choir, and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. Ahmed Douhou (born 14 December 1976 in Bouake) is a French sprinter who specializes in the 200 metres. He switched nationality from his birth country Côte d'Ivoire in 2002. He won the bronze medal in 4 x 400 metres relay at the 2002 European Championships, together with teammates Leslie Djhone, Naman Keïta and Ibrahima Wade. On the individual level he reached the semifinals of the 1997 IAAF World Indoor Championships, and participated at the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. The 100 metres, or 100-meter dash, is a sprint race in track and field competitions.
