Åre () is a locality and one of the leading Scandinavian ski resorts situated in Åre Municipality, Jämtland County, Sweden with 3,200 inhabitants in 2018. It is, however, not the seat of the municipality, which is Järpen. 25% of the local economy is based on tourism, most notably the downhill skiing and biking resorts in Åre, Duved and Storlien. Åre Old Church
Åre Old Church ( sv, Åre gamla kyrka) is a Romanesque church building situated in Åre, a parish within the Diocese of Härnösand and a locality in Åre Municipality, Jämtland County, Sweden. The church was erected in the late 12th century at the Saint Olaf Pilgrim's Route ( sv, S:t Olofleden), which nowadays goes from ''Selånger Old Church'' ruins at Sundsvall over the Scandinavian Mountains to Trondheim, Norway. Åre Municipality
Åre Municipality (, ) is a municipality in Jämtland County in northern Sweden. Its seat is located in Järpen. The present municipality was formed in 1974 through the amalgamation of "old" Åre Municipality with the surrounding municipalities Hallen, Kall, Mörsil and Undersåker. The largest village, Järpen, situated in Undersåker, was chosen as the seat of the new entity. Åresjön
Åresjön is a lake situated at above mean sea level in Åredalen, Jämtland County, Sweden, with primary inflow and outflow being Indalsälven. The lake is large, it has of average depth and reaches at the deepest point. The European route E14 and Mittbanan railway runs along the northern coastline through Åre and some minor settlements. Åre Ski Area lies on the northern bank of the lake; Åreskutan and Renfjället peaks are on each side of the valley. Jämtland County

Storlien
Storlien is a village and ski resort located in Åre municipality in Jämtland, Sweden, two kilometres from the Swedish-Norwegian border. The primary bases of the settlement are tourism and outdoor life – alpine skiing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing and hiking. During the 2000s, retail sales to customers from Norway become important, and most of the tourists in Storlien are Norwegians. The Swedish royal family has a house in Storlien, where they usually celebrate Easter and the New Year. There was also previously a sanitarium. Järpen () is a locality and the seat of Åre Municipality in Jämtland County, Sweden with 1,408 inhabitants in 2010. Järpen is located at an altitude of 324m/1,063 ft above sea level, on the river Indalsälven. The calcareous soil of the surrounding area enables the growth of rare mosses and other plants.
