Åke Sagrén
Lieutenant General Karl Åke Sagrén (26 January 1935 – 12 December 2022) was a Swedish Army officer. He was Chief of the Army from 1990 to 1994 and Chief of Army Command from 1994 to 1996. Early life Sagrén was born on 26 January 1935 in Motala, Sweden, the son of Karl Sagrén, an engineer, and his wife Annie (née Myrman). His father joined the Home Guard, the first day it was established and at the age of 15, Sagrén knew that he wanted to become an officer. Sagrén passed ''studentexamen'' in 1955 and became an officer in 1958. Career Military career Sagrén served at the Life Grenadier Regiment (I 4) and the Army Ranger School from 1958 to 1967 and was completed the higher course of the Swedish Armed Forces Staff College from 1967 to 1969. Motala
Motala () is a locality and the seat of Motala Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden with 29,823 inhabitants (41,956 in the entire municipality) in 2010. It is the third largest city of Östergötland, following Linköping and Norrköping. Sollefteå
Sollefteå () is a locality and the seat of Sollefteå Municipality in Västernorrland County, Sweden with 8,562 inhabitants in 2010. The earliest written account on Sollefteå is found in a script dating back to 1270. During this time the name of the village was given as De Solatum - a name that can be interpreted as a composition of ''Sol'' (sun) and ''at'' (property) i.e. literally The sunlit region. ''De Solatum'' also can be interpreted as desolation, which means loneliness or remoteness (see Remote and isolated community). Berndt Grundevik
Major General Berndt Karl Allan Grundevik (born 5 November 1956) is senior retired Swedish Army officer. Grundevik served as Inspector of the Army (2007–2012), as head of the Swedish Delegation to the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission (NNSC) in Korea (2013–2015) and as Deputy Chief of Joint Operations (2016–2017). Career Grundevik started his military career as a conscript at Bohuslän Regiment (I 17) in Uddevalla in 1976. As a conscript squadleader, he served in the Sinai Peninsula during 1977, before starting his training to become a commissioned officer. Grundevik went reserve officer training from 1978 to 1979 and was deputy platoon leader for the anti-tank warfare platoon at Bohuslän Regiment from 1979 to 1980 and then attended the Royal Military Academy in Stockholm from 1980 to 1981. Sverker Göranson
Sverker John Olof Göranson (born 3 May 1954) is a Swedish Army general with an armoured forces background. In 1995, he was the chief of staff of the Nordic battalion within UNPROFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Yugoslav Wars. Göranson was Inspector of the Swedish Army from 2005 to 2007, and served as Chief of Defence Staff from 2007 to 2009. He was the Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces from 25 March 2009, when he succeeded Håkan Syrén, until 1 October 2015, when he was succeeded by Micael Bydén. Major General Fritz Erling Paul Degerlund (born 16 December 1948) is a retired Swedish Army officer. Degerlund's senior commands include Inspector General of the Swedish Army and commanding officer of the Southern Military District. Career Military career Degerlund was born in Överstbyn, Boden Municipality, Sweden. He graduated as an engineer in 1971 and then attended the Royal Military Academy from 1973 to 1974. Lieutenant General Mertil Börje Melin (born 17 July 1945) is a retired Swedish Army officer. Melin started his military career as a ranger at Norrland's Dragoons (K 4) in Umeå and after several position and courses he became Chief of Army Command (19961998) and military commander of the Northern Military District (19982000) in Boden. After some time at the European Union Military Committee in Brussels he finished his career as the Crown Equerry of the Royal Court of Sweden.
