Vedat is a masculine given name meaning "friendship, love". It is commonly used in Turkey, and less commonly in Albania, North Macedonia and Kosovo. Vedat Muriqi (born 24 April 1994) is a Kosovan professional footballer who plays as a striker for La Liga club Mallorca and the Kosovo national team. Club career Teuta Durrës On 14 January 2013, Muriqi had a trial at Kategoria Superiore club Teuta Durrës and after impressing in a friendly match signed a one-and-a-half year contract with the club. Vedat Kokona (August 8, 1913 – October 14, 1998) was an Albanian translator, writer and lexicologist of the 20th century, well known for his dual dictionaries English-Albanian and French-Albanian and his contributions in Albanian lexicology and lexicography. Early life Kokona was born on August 8, 1913, in Izmir, Ottoman Empire, to an Albanian intellectual family, originating from Gjirokastra, Albania. His father, Elmaz, was a lawyer and a judge of the Ottoman Empire. Upon the family moving to Albania in 1920, he followed the primary school in Tirana. He finished in 1935 the Albanian National lyceum of Korca, then pursued higher studies in law in Paris, France. Vedat Ademi
Vedat Ademi (born 22 August 1982) is an Albanian singer-songwriter. He made his début in 2007 with "Më mashtruan sytë" at the 4th edition of Top Fest. However, he made the national breakthrough in 2011, after releasing his album ''Koha s'kthehet'' (Time doesn't return). His most successful song remains "Për ty", released in 2012. Biography Ademi was born on 22 August 1982 in Mitrovicë. In 2007 he entered Top Fest, and Kënga Magjike later with "Mall që djeg". The following year he participated in Top Fest again with "Mund të ishim bashkë" and entered the finals. He participated in these festivals numerous times. Vedat Okyar (August 1945 – 20 July 2009) was a Turkish international footballer who later became a sports journalist. Early life Vedat Okyar was born in Bursa August 1945. He played amateur football for Yücespor and Adaletspor before becoming a professional in 1965. Career Football career Okyar played professionally as a midfielder for Bursaspor, Beşiktaş, Diyarbakırspor and Karagümrük. Vedat Uysal (born 3 November 1962) is a former Turkish footballer and now manager, currently coaches Turkey national beach soccer team. Playing career Uysal began his career in 1979 at Galatasaray Youth Team, after two years he moved to Mersin İdman Yurdu and played for a season there. Then, he joined 2nd league team Vefa Simtel for two seasons. His performance earned him a transfer to Eskişehirspor in 1984. He played 4 seasons at Eskişehirspor, and also fulfilled his army duty during his spell and was selected for the Turkish national army football team.
