The Glass Ocean
''The Glass Ocean'' was an Indie rock band from Atlanta, Georgia. Biography The Glass Ocean began after founding members Keller Harbin and Josh Beiser left The Chariot in May 2006 after releases '' Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, and Nothing Is Bleeding'' and the '' Unsung EP''. Deciding to take a different approach, The Glass Ocean has gone through a considerably slow evolutionary process. A brief period by Keller Harbin as bassist for Every Time I Die meant that the band did not rush into releasing their music to a wide audience but instead played many local shows in the Atlanta area also stating their desire not to rely on the success of their previous musical endeavors and inevitably rush their music. The band's first release, the self-financed ''Put on the Wooden Overcoat'' EP was released on April 29, 2008 and was made available from the band's website and as a download from iTunes. The band has stated in interviews that they are not a Chris ...

Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". One of the primary scenes of the movement was Dunedin, where Dunedin sound, a cultural scene based around a convergence of noise pop and jangle became popular among the city's University of Otago, large student population. Independent labels such as Flying Nun Records, Flying Nun began to promote the scene across New Zealand, inspiring key college rock bands in the United States such as Pavement (band), Pavement, Pixies (band), Pixies and R.E.M. Other notable scenes grew in Madchester, Manchester and Hamburger Schule, Hamburg, with many others thriving thereafter. In the 1980s, the use of the term "independent music, indie" (or " ...

Roots Rock
Roots rock is a genre of rock music that looks back to rock's origins in folk, blues and country music. It is particularly associated with the creation of hybrid subgenres from the later 1960s, including blues rock, country rock, Southern rock, and swamp rock which have been seen as responses to the perceived excesses of the dominant psychedelic and the developing progressive rock.V. Bogdanov, C. Woodstra and S. T. Erlewine, ''All music guide to rock: the definitive guide to rock, pop, and soul'' (Backbeat Books, 3rd edn., 2002), p. 1327 Because ''roots music'' (Americana) is often used to mean folk and world musical forms, roots rock is sometimes used in a broad sense to describe any rock music that incorporates elements of this music. In the 1980s, roots rock enjoyed a revival in response to trends in punk rock, new wave, and heavy metal music. After a further decline, the 2000s saw a new interest in "roots" music. One proof of that is the specific Grammy Award given since 2 ...

The Chariot (band)
The Chariot was an American hardcore punk band from Douglasville, Georgia, that existed from 2003 to 2013. The last lineup consisted of drummer David Kennedy, vocalist and bandleader Josh Scogin, and guitarists Brandon Henderson and Stephen Harrison. They built a reputation around their powerful live performances, with Scogin's lyrics covering topics like materialism, personal struggle, current events, politics, and Christian themes. The band was formed by Scogin shortly after he left his position of vocalist in Norma Jean. In 2004, a record deal was signed with Solid State Records and a debut album was released, titled '' Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, and Nothing ...

''Everything Is Alive, Everything Is Breathing, Nothing Is Dead, and Nothing Is Bleeding'' is the debut studio album by American hardcore punk band The Chariot. It was recorded completely live and overdub-free (as well as never being mastered), giving the album a very raw sound. Background The Chariot was formed by vocalist Josh Scogin in 2003.
