The Battlefords Provincial Park
The Battlefords Provincial Park is a recreational provincial park in the Canadian Province of Saskatchewan. It is located north of the city of North Battleford in the RM of Meota No. 468 on Jackfish Lake. Highway 4 runs north from North Battleford to the park and Highway 204 runs through the park providing access to the park's amenities. The park is set in forested, rolling hills on Robinson Bay at the north-east corner of Jackfish Lake. Bayview Heights is a hamlet at the northern end of the park and the resort villages of Cochin (to the south) and Aquadeo (to the north) are on either side of the park. Attractions and amenities The Battlefords Provincial Park is a recreational park that has a campground with over 300 campsites, a golf course, beach access, hiking, and boating. North Battleford
North Battleford is a city in west-central Saskatchewan, Canada. It is the seventh largest city in the province and is directly across the North Saskatchewan River from the Town of Battleford. Together, the two communities are known as "The Battlefords". North Battleford borders the Rural Municipality of North Battleford No. 437, as well as the North Battleford Crown Colony (census subdivision). National parks Provincial parks The Government of Canada, federal government transferred control of natural resources to the Western Canada, western provinces in 1930 with the Natural Resources Acts. At that time, the Saskatchewan government set up its own Department of Natural Resources. In an attempt to get people working and to encourage tourism during the Great Depression, several projects were set up by the government, including setting up a provincial park system in 1931. Jackfish Lake (Saskatchewan)
Jackfish Lake is a large body of shallow water in central Saskatchewan, Canada. It is located about south of the village of Edam on Highway 26. Communities on or near the lake shore include Meota, Metinota, Cochin, and Aquadeo. The lake is accessed from Highways 4, 26, 697, 674, 769, and 204. Jackfish River, located at the lake's southern end, is the primary outflow. It exits the lake at the southern end and flows south into the North Saskatchewan River. Charette Creek, Jackfish Creek, and a short stream from Murry Lake at Cochin are the primary inflows.
