theStart (stylized as theSTART) is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. Their current lineup includes Aimee Echo, Jamie Miller, Erick Sanger and Chelsea Davis. History Aimee Echo and Jamie Miller formed the band in 1998, originally named Hero. They changed it to theStart because "Hero" was already being used by another band. Their starting lineup included bassist Jeff Jaeger, drummer Scott Ellis (formerly of Mellowdrone and She Wants Revenge), and guitarist Mike Smith. Their debut album, ''Shakedown!'', was released in 2001 on Geffen Records. Following a period of touring, they discovered that their record label was closing. The band decided to fund their next EP themselves, releasing ''The 1234'' in April 2002 and selling it at their shows. Shortly thereafter, they announced the departure of Scott Ellis. Snot is an American nu metal band from Santa Barbara, California. Formed in 1995, the band released their only studio album '' Get Some'' with founding vocalist Lynn Strait in 1997 and disbanded after his death in 1998. In 2008, the lineup of lead guitarist Mikey Doling, bassist John Fahnestock, drummer Jamie Miller and rhythm guitarist Sonny Mayo reunited. She Wants Revenge is an American rock band, based in San Fernando Valley, California. Formed in 2004, the band is a duo of singer and guitarist Justin Warfield and multi-instrumentalist Adam Bravin. Mellowdrone is an American rock band from Los Angeles, formed in 1999. Biography Mellowdrone originated as Jonathan Bates' solo project, but expanded to a full band with Tony DeMatteo (guitar and keyboards), Scott Ellis (drums) and Greg Griffith (bass). Griffith and Ellis were later replaced by Camila Gutierrez and Brian Borg respectively. The band's music encompasses a range of styles from lo-fi, indie rock and experimental. Their debut album, ''Box'', was released in 2006 on Columbia Records. Shortly after, Gutierrez formed Uh Huh Her and left Mellowdrone. Frank C. Zummo is an American musician, best known as the drummer for rock bands Sum 41 and Street Drum Corps. Career Zummo is one of the founding members of Street Drum Corps. Mike Smith (born October 11, 1973) is a musician, best known as the former guitarist of Snot, TheStart, and Limp Bizkit. Currently he is the singer and guitarist for the band Shedding Light (previously known as Evolver). Mike Smith also appeared in Staind's music video " Outside". Career Rumbledog Mike Smith played the guitar for the hard rock band Rumbledog from 1993 to 1996. Human Waste Project was an American rock band from Huntington Beach, California, with Aimee Echo on vocals, Mike Tempesta on guitar, Jeff Schartoff on bass, and Scott Ellis on drums. They released one studio album, '' E-lux'' (1997), and broke up soon after. History Friends Jeff Schartoff and Scott Ellis, while on the way to Lollapalooza, decided to start a band. They then drafted Aimee Echo as vocalist after asking if she could scream. They initially also had another vocalist, Michael Walsh, who departed from the group in 1994, leaving Echo as the sole vocalist. John Monte joined as guitarist but did not last long and they went through a string of guitarists, one of whom was John Chase of Cellophane before finding Mike Tempesta.
