Ringbanen
Ringbanen (the "ring line") is an S-train line in Copenhagen. Its route is roughly semicircular, running around the central part of Copenhagen and connecting the S-train radials about 5 km out. Stations Service pattern Trains on the ring line carry service designator F (S-train) and run from 5:30 to 0:50. In the period between about 7.00 and 19.00 on Monday to Friday, there is one stopping train every 5 minutes. Outside this period, there is one stopping train every 10 minutes. History The ring line started as a freight bypass railway. In 1900 Copenhagen had a central station situated just inside ''Skt Jørgens Sø'', from which railways went towards Roskilde (via Frederiksberg) and Hellerup (via ''Nørrebro'', not the current station but where ''Nørrebroparken'' is now). F (S-train)
F is the service designation for trains on the ring line of Copenhagen's S-train network. It runs from about 05:00 to 01:00 from Ny Ellebjerg to Hellerup. Trains run every 5 minutes between about 7:00 and 19:00, Monday through Friday, and every 10 minutes on weekends, early mornings and late evenings/nights. On Friday and Saturday nights there is also a 30 minutes service throughout the night. In 2024 this line is planned to become driverless and with 24/7 service model. Danshøj Station
Danshøj station is an S-train junction between Vestbanen and Ringbanen in Copenhagen, Denmark. Opened on 8 January 2005, it serves mainly as an interchange station between B and F. The station was in the project phase of Ringbanen originally intended to be known as Harrestrup. Due to public comments, however, the name was definitively changed to Danshøj. Overview The station has two levels: F stops at the lower level with platforms to the sides of the track; B and Bx stop at the upper level with a platform between the track. The two levels are connected by stairways and lifts. Intended as an interchange station between Vestbanen and Ringbanen, only pedestrians and bicycles can access the station, as automobiles, including buses, are denied entrance to the station area. Hareskovbanen
Hareskovbanen (English: ''the Hareskov line'') is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects the city center to a number of northwestern suburbs and the cities of Værløse and Farum, with the terminus placed in the latter. History The line was opened in 1906 as part of the private ''København-Slangerup Jernbane'' which went to Slangerup, about two thirds from Farum to Frederikssund. Its terminus in Copenhagen was København L, close to present day Nørrebro station on the S-train ring line - the station building of this station still stands. This was quite a bit from the city center, but the station was supposed to be temporary until the exact routing of the various new railways near Copenhagen that were in planning around the turn of the century had been finalized. Nordbanen
Nordbanen is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects Copenhagen city center with several northern suburbs, and the cities of Hillerød, Birkerød and Allerød Stations Service patterns The weekday service consists of service A which stops at all stations until Holte, and E which runs with limited stops until Holte and then stops at all stations until Hillerød. On weekends and evenings, only service A runs, stopping at all stations. Between 1950 and 1989 rush-hour and limited-stop on the radial ran under service letters C, Cc and Cx. Frederikssundbanen
Frederikssundbanen is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen; it connects the city center with a number of Northwestern suburbs (notably Herlev and Ballerup) and other townships until Frederikssund on the Western coast of the Nordsjælland peninsula. Stations Service patterns The service pattern on the inner part of the line is the C service which stops at all stations until Ballerup. On the outer part the basic service is H, which runs partially non-stop until Ballerup. The H service is peculiar in that its frequency is ''not'' doubled during daylight hours, as all other basic S-train services are. Instead, in the period where C is doubled, half of its trains continue to Frederikssund, providing 6 trains per hour in total on the outer part of the line, too. Ny Ellebjerg Station
Ny Ellebjerg station is a railway station on the S-train and inter-city network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It serves as an interchange station between the Køge radial (A, E), the Ring line (F), and the Copenhagen–Ringsted Line (InterCity services). It will change name to København Syd (Copenhagen South) by 2024, coinciding with the completion of the M4 Metro line. Before the station opened on 6 January 2007, there was an S-train station called Ellebjerg station a few hundred metres southwest of the current station, where the Køge-Bugt railway passes over Ellebjergvej. That station is now closed. Ny Ellebjerg Station will be the southern terminus of the planned M4 line of the Copenhagen Metro. New platforms have in 2013 been opened for the high-speed Copenhagen–Ringsted Line, on which trains run via Køge Nord to Ringsted, in future at up to 250 km/h. Klampenborgbanen
Klampenborgbanen is the shortest (13.3 km from København H) of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It runs parallel to the Kystbanen regional line from central Copenhagen until Klampenborg, and serves residential neighbourhoods in eastern Gentofte as well as popular recreational destinations at Klampenborg such as Dyrehavsbakken and Jægersborg Dyrehave. Nørrebro Station
Nørrebro station is an interchange station between the S-train Ring Line and the Copenhagen Metro City Circle Line in the Outer Nørrebro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is situated at the junction of Nørrebrogade, Folmer Bendtsens Plads, Frederikssundsvej and Nordre Fasanvej. The functionalist station building from 1940 was listed on the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1992. History The first station at the site was opened on 1 July 1886.
