Pine needle tea or pine leaf tea is a herbal tea made from pine needles, or the leaves of pine trees (trees of the genus ''Pinus''). In Korea, the tea made from the leaves of Korean red pine (''P. densiflora'') or Manchurian red pine (''P. tabuliformis'') is known as ''solip-cha'' (), while the tea made from the leaves of Korean pine (''P. koraiensis'') is known as jannip-cha () or ''baek yeop-Cha'' (). In North America, pine needle tea may be made from the leaves of Eastern white pine (''P. strobus'') and Loblolly, Virginia Pine, Long Leaf Pine. Herbal Tea
Herbal teas, also known as herbal infusions and less commonly called tisanes (UK and US , US also ), are beverages made from the infusion or decoction of herbs, spices, or other plant material in hot water. Pinus Koraiensis
''Pinus koraiensis'' is a species of pine known commonly as the Korean pine. It is native to eastern Asia: Korea, northeastern China, Mongolia, the temperate rainforests of the Russian Far East, and central Japan. In the north of its range, it grows at moderate elevations, typically , whereas further south, it is a mountain tree, growing at elevation in Japan. Other common names include Chinese pinenut. Description It is a member of the white pine group, ''Pinus'', section ''Quinquefoliae''. In its native habitat and growing conditions it can reach in height. Scurvy
Scurvy is a disease resulting from a lack of vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Early symptoms of deficiency include weakness, feeling tired and sore arms and legs. Without treatment, decreased red blood cells, gum disease, changes to hair, and bleeding from the skin may occur. As scurvy worsens there can be poor wound healing, personality changes, and finally death from infection or bleeding. It takes at least a month of little to no vitamin C in the diet before symptoms occur. In modern times, scurvy occurs most commonly in people with mental disorders, unusual eating habits, alcoholism, and older people who live alone. Other risk factors include intestinal malabsorption and dialysis. While many animals produce their own vitamin C, humans and a few others do not. Aneda
The evergreen aneda (spelled either this way or as annedda by different 16th- to 17th-century sources) was used by Jacques Cartier and his men as a remedy against scurvy in the winter of 1535–1536. It is generally believed to have been ''Thuja occidentalis'', a common tree in Quebec.
