Candice Odgers
Candice Lynn Odgers (born 1976) is a developmental and quantitative psychologist who studies how early adversity and exposure to poverty influences adolescent mental health. Her team has developed new approaches for studying health and development using mobile devices and online tools, with a focus on how digital tools and spaces can be improved to support children and adolescents. Odgers is currently a professor of Psychological Science at the University of California, Irvine and a research professor at Duke University. Odgers is also the co-director of the Child and Brain Development Program at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research. Merle Middleton Odgers
Merle Middleton Odgers (April 21, 1900 - September 6, 1983) was president of Bucknell University from 1954 until his retirement in 1964, when he was named president emeritus. Biography Born in Philadelphia on April 21, 1900, Odgers was a son of David Odgers and Elizabeth (Ramsay) Odgers. He graduated with first academic honors from Central High School in Philadelphia in 1918 and then from the University of Pennsylvania with class honors in 1922. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After receiving his Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from Penn in 1924 and 1928, respectively, he taught Latin at the university until 1933, when he was named dean of Penn's College of Liberal Arts for Women. Odgers was then named president of Girard College, a Philadelphia secondary school for orphan boys. He held that position from 1936 to 1954. Jayme Odgers (born 1939) was an artist, photographer and graphic designer. He was best known for his new wave design and experimental collage photography of the 1980s. Biography Jayme Odgers graduated from Los Angeles’ Art Center College of Design with a bachelor's degree in Art 1962. After graduating his first job was designing the wayfarer graphics for the IBM Pavilion at the 1964 World's Fair where he met and later became Paul Rand's assistant. In the late 1970s Jayme Odgers played an instrumental role in establishing a new look for California design, work that was included in the exhibition ''Pacific Waves'' at the Museo Fortuny in Venice, Italy. In the 1980s, he worked with April Greiman to create posters for the 1984 Summer Olympics and the 100th anniversary of the Swiss publisher Thieme. William Odgers
William Odgers VC (14 February 1834 – 20 December 1873) was a Royal Navy sailor and a recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Early life Odgers was born in Falmouth, Cornwall, on 14 February 1834. Victoria Cross Odgers was 26 years old, and a leading seaman in the Royal Navy during the First Taranaki War in New Zealand when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC. On 28 March 1860 at Omata, Leading Seaman Odgers of displayed conspicuous gallantry when a party of officers, sailors and marines from the ship stormed Kaipopo Pa during operations against Maori insurgents. Cathy Odgers is a New Zealand-born, Hong Kong-based former blogger and lawyer who is best known for running a smear campaign against the head of the New Zealand Serious Fraud Office. She published the ''Cactus Kate'' blog, and wrote the fortnightly Cactus Kate column in The Dominion Post from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, Odgers was declared one of New Zealand's "hottest singles" by The Sunday Star-Times. Gary Odgers
Gary Odgers (born 15 December 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer who played with St Kilda in the Victorian Football League (VFL). St Kilda career Odgers came to the VFL from Ballarat club Golden Point and was used in a variety of roles by St Kilda, but mostly as a defender. He first broke into the side in 1981, playing five games that year. In 1982 he appeared in the first 17 rounds of the season, before losing his spot in the team with a shoulder injury. Over the next four seasons he was a regular fixture in the St Kilda team and probably had his best year in 1985 when he got eight Brownlow Medal votes, the only time he ever featured in the count. George Odgers
George James Odgers (29 March 1916 – 2008) was an Australian soldier, journalist and military historian. Odgers served in the Australian Army as a private soldier and non-commissioned officer; and later in the Royal Australian Air Force becoming a group captain. He was one of the authors of the official history of Australia in World War II, ''Australia in the War of 1939–1945''. Early years Odgers was born in Perth, Western Australia, on 29 March 1916. He was the youngest of eight children and the first of his parents' children to be born in a hospital. The family struggled financially through the Great Depression, but Odgers was able to attend Perth Boys High School and later worked his way through the University of Western Australia and University of Melbourne where he completed a master of arts. John Jeffrey Odgers (born May 31, 1969) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player who played over 800 games in the National Hockey League for the San Jose Sharks, Boston Bruins, Colorado Avalanche and the Atlanta Thrashers. Mainly an enforcer, Odgers compiled a total of 2,364 penalty minutes in 821 regular season games. He also scored 75 goals and 70 assists for 145 points. Odgers served as captain of the San Jose Sharks for the latter half of the 1994–95 season and the entire 1995–96 season. He was also known for his mustache while with the Colorado Avalanche and the Atlanta Thrashers. Playing career Odgers was undrafted by any NHL team.
