An open-source bounty is a monetary reward for completing a task in an open-source software project. Description Bounties are usually offered as an incentive for fixing software bugs or implementing minor features. Bounty driven development is one of the business models for open-source software. The compensation offered for an open-source bounty is usually small. Bounty (reward)
A bounty is a payment or Reward system, reward of money to locate, capture or kill an outlaw or a Fugitive, wanted person. Two modern examples of bounties are the ones placed for the capture of Saddam Hussein and his sons by the United States government and Microsoft's bounty for computer virus creators. Those who make a living by pursuing bounties are known as bounty hunters. Bounties have also been granted for other actions, such as exports under mercantilism. AmiZilla
AmiZilla was an ongoing project sponsored by DiscreetFX which tried to port the Mozilla Firefox browser - and other Mozilla projects - to AmigaOS, MorphOS and AROS, and to fund efforts for achieving that goal. History This project started in May 2003 from an idea of DiscreetFX, a firm based in United States (Chicago, Illinois) which supports still existing Amiga Video Toaster market and produces and sells programs and Digital/FX sample collections for amateur, professional and broadcast studios customers. RISC OS
RISC OS () is an operating system designed to run on ARM architecture, ARM computers. Originally designed in 1987 by Acorn Computers of England, it was made for use in its new line of ARM-based Acorn Archimedes, Archimedes personal computers and was then shipped with other computers produced by the company. RISC OS Open Ltd. (also referred to as ROOL) is a Private company limited by guarantee, limited company engaged in computer software and IT consulting. It is managing the process of publishing the source code to RISC OS. Company founders include staff who formerly worked for Pace plc, Pace, the company which acquired RISC OS after History of RISC OS#Demise of Acorn Computers Ltd, Acorn's demise. UAE (emulator)
UAE is a computer emulator which emulates the computer hardware, hardware of Commodore International's Amiga range of computers. Released under the GNU General Public License, UAE is free software. History Bernd Schmidt conceived of an emulator that can run Amiga software when he found that such a task was widely believed to be impossible. Schmidt had written previous programs for Amiga, and was further motivated by the desire to not lose games, demos, and sound modules to switching operating systems. Kickstart (Amiga)
Kickstart is the bootstrap firmware of the Amiga computers developed by Commodore International. Its purpose is to initialize the Amiga hardware and core components of AmigaOS and then attempt to boot from a bootable volume, such as a floppy disk. Most Amiga models were shipped with the Kickstart firmware stored on ROM chips. Versions Commodore's AmigaOS was formed of both the Kickstart firmware and a software component provided on disk (with the software portion often termed as Workbench). For most AmigaOS updates the Kickstart version number was matched to the Workbench version number. Confusingly, Commodore also used internal revision numbers for Kickstart chips.
