Lamberto Loria (12 February 1855 – 4 April 1913) was an Italian ethnographer, naturalist and explorer. Biography Born in Alexandria from a Jewish family, after the death of his mother Clara, he returned with his father Marco in Italy, in Pisa. Vincenzo Loria (September 4, 1850 – 1939) was an Italian painter, active mainly as a watercolor artist in Naples. Born in Salerno, he went to Naples and studied under professor Domenico Morelli, painting genre subjects sometimes in oil, but more commonly in watercolor. Simone Loria (born 28 October 1976) is an Italian former footballer who played as a centre-back. Loria is known for having scored a spectacular bicycle kick from the edge of the penalty area against Chievo while playing for Atalanta. Mariano Sánchez De Loria
Mariano Sánchez de Loria (24 September 1774–2 August 1842) was a Bolivian-born statesman and lawyer. He was a representative to the Congress of Tucumán which on 9 July 1816 declared the Independence of Argentina. Sánchez de Loria was born in Chuquisaca and gained his doctorate in jurisprudence and canonical laws at the university there. He supported the revolution in that city in 1809 and was elected by Charcas to the Tucumán Congress, serving in 1816 for the declaration. He backed the idea of an Incan constitutional monarchy for the United Provinces of the River Plate. After the Congress moved to Buenos Aires, Sánchez de Loria continued his work there. Around 1817 his wife died and he returned to his hometown and was ordained a priest, becoming a canon at Charcas Cathedral. When he died he was a priest at Tacobamba in Potosí. Jeffrey Harold Loria (born November 20, 1940) is an American art dealer, author, and the former owner of the Montreal Expos (now the Washington Nationals) and Miami Marlins of Major League Baseball. Early life Loria was born and raised in a American Jews, Jewish family in Manhattan, the son of Ruth (Ost) and Walter J. Loria, a lawyer. Gino Benedetto Loria (19 May 1862, Mantua – 30 January 1954, Genoa) was a Jewish-Italian mathematician and historian of mathematics. Loria studied mathematics in Mantua, Turin, and Pavia and received his doctorate in 1883 from the University of Turin under the direction of Enrico D'Ovidio. For several years he was D'Ovidio's assistant in Turin. Starting in 1886 he became, as a result of winning a then-customary competition, Professor for Algebra and Analytic Geometry at the University of Genoa, where he stayed for the remainder of his career.
