Jonkheer
(female equivalent: ; french: Écuyer; en, Squire) is an honorific in the Low Countries denoting the lowest rank within the nobility. In the Netherlands, this in general concerns a prefix used by the untitled nobility. In Belgium, this is the lowest title within the nobility system, recognised by the Court of Cassation (Belgium), Court of Cassation. It is the cognate and equivalent of the German noble honorific , which was historically used throughout the German-speaking part of Europe, and to some extent also within Scandinavia. The abbreviation of the honorific is ''jhr.'', and that of the female equivalent ''jkvr.'', which is placed before the given name and titles. Honorific of nobility or is literally translated as 'young lord' or 'young lady'. In the Middle Ages, such a person was a young and unmarried child of a high-ranking knight or nobleman. The House of Czetwertyński or Chetvertynsky (also ''Czetwertyński-Światopełk'' and ''Sviatopolk-Chetvertynsky'') is a Polish princely family of Ruthenian origin that was founded in modern-day Volhynia within the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland, now Ukraine. The family takes its name from the village of Chetvertnia, Lutsk county, in modern-day Manevychi Raion, Volyn Oblast. De Borchgrave D'Altena
de Borchgrave d'Altena is the name of a noble family from 's-Hertogenbosch and the County of Flanders. History According to family tradition, the ancestors of this house were Viscounts of Castle Altena. This fact is not certain, but it is worth noting that the family already claimed in the Middle Ages the coats of arms of the noble family of Altena (two averted salmons). The first Borchgraves acted as servants of the city of Den Bosch. After the Reformation, the family moved to the Southern Netherlands. The Marquess of Trazegnies d'Ittre (''Markies van Trazegnies'' or ''marquis de Trazegnies'') is a member of the Belgian nobility. The title has been held for centuries by the noble house of Trazegnies (''Maison de Trazegnies''). They hold private residence in the Castle of Corroy-le-Château. Westerlo () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The House of Merode is one of the most prominent families of the Belgian nobility. The House of Merode originates from the village of Langerwehe, Merode (today in the municipality of Langerwehe, Germany). Duke Of Ursel
The House of Ursel is the name of an important old Belgian noble family of German origin. The Head of the House is styled the Duke of Ursel, while other members are styled as Count/Countess d'Ursel. History The Ursel family roots are in Schmalkalden, Germany, and were collateral branch of the House of Schetzenberg. In the late 15th century, some members moved to Hasselt and Antwerp.
