Local Government
Local government is a generic term for the lowest tiers of public administration within a particular sovereign state. This particular usage of the word government refers specifically to a level of administration that is both geographically-localised and has limited powers. While in some countries, "government" is normally reserved purely for a national administration (government) (which may be known as a central government or federal government), the term local government is always used specifically in contrast to national government – as well as, in many cases, the activities of sub-national, first-level administrative divisions (which are generally known by names such as cantons, provinces, states, oblasts, or regions). Local governments generally act only within powers specifically delegated to them by law and/or directives of a higher level of government. Interprovinciaal Overleg
The Association of Provinces of the Netherlands ( nl, Interprovinciaal Overleg; IPO) is the association of the twelve provinces of the Netherlands. The association looks after provincial interests and forms a platform for exchanging knowledge and experience among the twelve Dutch provinces. The IPO also stimulates and takes the initiative in reform programmes. The executive of the IPO consists of thirteen members, made up of one from each province (who can be a member of that province's ''Gedeputeerde Staten'', or its King's Commissioner) plus a chairperson. The chair is vacant. The IPO's general assembly is made up of twenty-four members of the States-Provincial (2 from each province). The office of the IPO presents provincial interests through relations with the central government, the European Union, the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, the Unie van Waterschappen, the National Civil Pension Fund and with social organizations. Greater Nagoya Initiative
The Greater Nagoya Initiative (GNI) is a local revitalization project in central Japan established in 2004 to promote the industry and economy of the Chūkyō Industrial Area and to attract foreign companies to invest in the Greater Nagoya region. The initiative is operated by the Greater Nagoya Initiative Center (GNIC), which was established for the purpose in 2006. GNI is co-hosted and operated by Aichi Prefecture, Gifu Prefecture, Mie Prefecture, and several nearby municipalities and business organizations. Euro Mediterranean Partnership Of Local And Regional Authorities
The Standing Committee for Euro Mediterranean Partnership of Local and Regional Authorities (COPPEM), was created in 2000 to promote dialogue and development between local and regional authorities in the Euro-Mediterranean area. COPPEM is an international body of local and regional authorities of the EuroMediterranean area. The Secretariat of COPPEM is based in Palermo (Italy). The international network of COPPEM was created in 2000 with the support of the Arab Towns Organization and the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, following the definition of a settlement agreed in Gaza by representatives of local and regional authorities. The first Plenary Assembly, attended by the 37 Euro-Mediterranean delegations, took place in Palermo on 27–28 November 2000. German Association Of Towns And Municipalities
The German Association of Towns and Municipalities (Deutscher Städte- und Gemeindebund, DStGB) is a German central organisation of the municipal self-government () which represents the interests of 14.000 towns and municipalities belonging to a county (Kreis) in Germany. A similar organisation exists with the Association of German Cities (Deutscher Städtetag), which represents the bigger cities. The DStGB is constituted federally. Its main office is located in Berlin. Current president of the DStGB since July 2020 is Ralf Spiegler, mayor of the city of Nieder-Olm. Honorary president is Roland Schäfer, former mayor of the city of Bergkamen. The organisation works publicly and releases press statements regarding questions of towns and municipalities in Germany. It did so for example several times in the European migrant crisis.

Deutscher Städtetag
The Deutscher Städtetag (Association of German Cities) is an organization that represents interests of cities in Germany. It began in 1905, dissolved in 1933, then re-formed in 1945. As of 2019 some 200 cities comprise its membership. The association's mission centers on sustaining the guarantee of local self-governance specified in the '' Grundgesetz für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland'' (German constitution), Article 28, paragraph 2. KANUKOKA
KANUKOKA ( kl, Kalaallit Nunaanni Kommunit Kattuffiat, da, De Grønlandske Kommuners Landsforening) was the national association of Greenland's municipalities, led by Palle Jeremiassen. The name was an acronym formed from the first two letters of each of the constituent words of the now defunct organization's name in the Greenlandic language. The aim of the organization was to facilitate cooperation between the municipalities of Greenland. Previously based in Nuuk, the organization ran the municipal elections every four years, with the last election taking place in 2016. All municipal authorities in Greenland were members of the organization up until its 2018 dissolution. The association was overseen by the Minister for Social Affairs in the Government of Greenland ( kl, Naalakkersuisut). Faroe Islands
The Faroe Islands ( ), or simply the Faroes ( fo, Føroyar ; da, Færøerne ), are a North Atlantic island group and an autonomous territory of the Kingdom of Denmark.
