List Of Highest Scores In Figure Skating
The following list of highest scores in figure skating contains the highest scores earned from the 2018–19 season onwards, under the ISU Judging System (IJS). The 2018–19 season began on 1 July 2018. After being trialed in 2003, the IJS replaced the old 6.0 system in the 2004–2005 figure skating season. Up to and including the 2017–2018 season, the Grade of Execution (GOE) scoring system for each program element ranged between –3 and +3. Starting with the 2018–19 season, the GOE was expanded to range between –5 and +5. Hence, the International Skating Union (ISU) have restarted all records from the 2018–19 season and all previous statistics have been marked as "historical". 2018–19 Figure Skating Season
The 2018–19 figure skating season began on July 1, 2018, and ended on June 30, 2019. During this season, elite skaters competed at the ISU Championship level in the 2019 2019 European Figure Skating Championships, European, 2019 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, Four Continents, 2019 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, World Junior, and 2019 World Figure Skating Championships, World Championships. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. 2022 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2022 European Figure Skating Championships were held from 10 to 16 January 2022 in Tallinn, Estonia. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition determined the entry quotas for each federation at the 2023 European Championships. Russia swept the titles for a second consecutive European Championships and for the eighth time in history (after 1997, 1998, 1999, 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2020). Tallinn was announced as the host in June 2019. The city previously hosted the competition in 2010. Qualification Age and minimum TES requirements The competition was open to skaters from all European member nations of the International Skating Union. 2021 Rostelecom Cup
The 2021 Rostelecom Cup was the sixth event in the 2021–22 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. It was held at the Iceberg Skating Palace in Sochi on November 26–28. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, women's singles, pairs, and ice dance. Skaters earned points toward qualifying for the 2021–22 Grand Prix Final. The event was originally scheduled to be held at its traditional location of Megasport Sport Palace in Moscow, but was relocated in June after the International Ice Hockey Federation adjusted the rink size at the Megasport. Kamila Valeryevna Valieva (russian: Камила Валерьевна Валиева; born 26 April 2006) is a Russian figure skater. She is the 2022 European champion, 2021 Rostelecom Cup champion, 2021 Skate Canada International champion, 2022 Russian national champion, and 2021 Russian National silver medalist. She is also a provisional 2022 Olympic champion in the team event pending the conclusion of a WADA investigation. During the 2022 Winter Olympics, a sample that Valieva had submitted for a drug test in December tested positive for trimetazidine, which is banned in sports competition for increasing endurance. Free Skating
The free skating segment of figure skating, also called the free skate and the long program, is the second of two segments of competitions, skated after the short program. Its duration, across all disciplines, is four minutes for senior skaters and teams, and three and one-half minutes for junior skaters and teams. The men's singles competition in figure skating at the 2022 Winter Olympics was held on 8 February ( short program) and 10 February (free skating), at the Capital Indoor Stadium in Haidian District of Beijing. Nathan Chen of the United States won the event, with Yuma Kagiyama of Japan taking the silver medal, and Shoma Uno, also of Japan, winning the bronze. Short Program (figure Skating)
The short program of figure skating is the first of two segments of competitions, skated before the free skating program. It lasts, for both senior and junior singles and pair skaters, 2 minutes and 40 seconds. In synchronized skating, for both juniors and seniors, the short program lasts 2 minutes and 50 seconds. Vocal music with lyrics is allowed for all disciplines since the 2014-2015 season. The short program for single skaters and for pair skaters consists of seven required elements, and there are six required elements for synchronized skaters.
