Topographic Jut
In topography, jut is a measure of the base-to-peak rise and visual impressiveness of a mountain summit or other landform. It describes how sharply or impressively a location rises above surrounding terrain by factoring both height above surroundings and steepness of ascent. Description A mountain with a jut of X can be interpreted to rise as sharply or impressively as a vertical cliff of X. For example, a vertical cliff of height 100 meters, a 45° slope of height 141 meters, and a 30° slope of height 200 meters all measure a jut of 100 meters and can be interpreted to rise equally sharply. Jut can be further decomposed into base-to-peak height and base-to-peak steepness, where jut equals base-to-peak height multiplied by the sine of base-to-peak steepness. Jut Line or Jutland Lines ( ur, جٹ لائنز ) is a neighborhood in Karachi East district of Karachi, Pakistan. It was previously administered as part of Jamshed Town, which was disbanded in 2011. Jutlandic, or Jutish (Danish: ''jysk''; ), is the western variety of Danish, spoken on the peninsula of Jutland in Denmark. Hendrik Jut
Hendrik Jut (19 July 1851 – 12 June 1878) was a Dutch 19th-century murderer from The Hague. He killed two people in part to afford his marriage to Christina Goedvolk. After the murders the couple traveled, or fled, but eventually returned to the Netherlands where they were imprisoned. Jut died relatively soon after imprisonment while Christina lived out her twelve-year sentence. Once released she changed her surname to "De Graaf", her mother's, and became a maid. She also remarried, but had difficulties continuing to her death in 1926. He has become a part of Dutch folk culture and a carnival "strength tester" called the "Kop van Jut" (''Head of Jut'', hitting a block with a large mallet, causing a bell to be rung if the blow is powerful enough) is said to be named after him. In English it is called the high striker. In the Dutch language, the expression "de kop van jut zijn" (being the head of jut) means 'being the scapegoat'. Nikolai Yut
Nikolai Yakovlevich Yut ( cv, Николай Ют, ''Nikolay Yut''; russian: Николай Яковлевич Ют; July 30, 1898 – March 27, 1967) was a Chuvash writer, folklorist and literary critic. He became a member of the USSR Union of Writers in 1934. He was the cousin of the Chuvash writer and literature critic Arcady Aris. Biography Nikolai Yut was born in the village of Siner (now in Alikovsky District, Chuvash Republic), (Russia). He graduated from the Simbirsk Chuvash teacher's school. Then went to study at the Communist University of the East, successfully passing a course graduate studies, Institute of History of Material Culture of the USSR. Jute
Jute is a long, soft, shiny bast fiber that can be spun into coarse, strong threads. It is produced from flowering plants in the genus ''Corchorus'', which is in the mallow family Malvaceae. The primary source of the fiber is ''Corchorus olitorius'', but such fiber is considered inferior to that derived from ''Corchorus capsularis''. "Jute" is the name of the plant or fiber used to make burlap, hessian, or gunny cloth. Jute is one of the most affordable natural fibers and second only to cotton in the amount produced and variety of uses. Jute fibers are composed primarily of plant materials cellulose and lignin.
