Iridin
Iridin is an isoflavone, a type of flavonoid. It is the 7-glucoside of irigenin and can be isolated from several species of irises like orris root, ''Iris florentina'' or ''Iris versicolor'', also commonly known as the larger blue flag. It can also be found in ''Iris kemaonensis ''Iris kemaonensis'', the Kumaon iris, is a plant species in the genus '' Iris'', it is also in the subgenus '' Iris'' and in the section ''Pseudoregelia''. It is a rhizomatous perennial, from Tibetan China, Bhutan, India, Kashmir and Nepal. I ...''. ''Iris'' is a flowering plant genus of 310 accepted species with showy flowers. As well as being the scientific name, ''iris'' is also widely used as a common name for all ''Iris'' species, as well as some belonging to other closely related genera. Iris Versicolor
''Iris versicolor'' is also commonly known as the blue flag, harlequin blueflag, larger blue flag, northern blue flag, and poison flag, plus other variations of these names, and in Britain and Ireland as purple iris. It is a species of '' Iris'' native to North America, in the Eastern United States and Eastern Canada. It is common in sedge meadows, marshes, and along streambanks and shores. Iris Kemaonensis
''Iris kemaonensis'', the Kumaon iris, is a plant species in the genus ''Iris'', it is also in the subgenus ''Iris'' and in the section ''Pseudoregelia''. It is a rhizomatous perennial, from Tibetan China, Bhutan, India, Kashmir and Nepal. It has light green or yellowish green leaves, that extend after flowering time. Isoflavone
Isoflavones are substituted derivatives of isoflavone, a type of naturally occurring isoflavonoids, many of which act as phytoestrogens in mammals. A glucoside is a glycoside that is derived from glucose. Glucosides are common in plants, but rare in animals.
