Iggy or Iggie is a unisex name and it is often a short form of the Roman Latin names Ignatia (feminine) and Ignatius (masculine), or their derivatives in other European languages. As such the name is derived ultimately from the Etruscan language family name ''Egnat'', the meaning of which is unknown. (The Romans added the Latin nominative endings ''-ia'' and ''-ius''.) Robert Coleman Shevak, better known as Iggy Shevak, was an American jazz musician who played string bass with several leading jazz figures in the 1940s and 1950s. Shevak is also credited on recordings as Robert Shevak, Bob Shevak, Roger Shevak, Iggy Shevack, and as Richard Shevak. After playing in bands in New York in the late 1930s and early 1940s, Shevak moved to Los Angeles in the late 1940s. ''Little Lulu'' is a comic strip created in 1935 by American author Marjorie Henderson Buell. The character, Lulu Moppet, debuted in ''The Saturday Evening Post'' on February 23, 1935, in a single panel, appearing as a flower girl at a wedding and mischievously strewing the aisle with banana peels. ''Little Lulu'' replaced Carl Anderson's '' Henry'', which had been picked up for distribution by King Features Syndicate. ''Iggy Arbuckle'' is an animated series that premiered in Canada on Teletoon in June 2007.
