"Interlude" is a 1968 song written and composed by Georges Delerue and Hal Shaper and originally performed by American soul singer Timi Yuro. It is the title track for the 1968 film of the same name. In 1994, the song was covered in a duet by Morrissey and Siouxsie Sioux and released as a single in August of that year by EMI. It was presented under the banner of "Morrissey & Siouxsie". Interlude (1957 Song)
''Interlude'' is a 1957 American CinemaScope drama romance film directed by Douglas Sirk and starring June Allyson and Rossano Brazzi. The film is a reworking of ''When Tomorrow Comes'', a 1939 film starring Irene Dunne and Charles Boyer. Both films were based on a novel by James M. Cain. Sirk cited ''Serenade'' as the title of that book, but in March 2014, in a long article for Senses of Cinema in which he discussed all three works, critic Tom Ryan revealed that both films are based on Cain's '' The Root of His Evil''. The film was later remade and released in 1968 under the same title. Directed by Kevin Billington it starred Oskar Werner, Barbara Ferris and Virginia Maskell. Plot Helen Banning, an American, moves to Munich, Germany to begin a new job with a cultural agency. She meets a handsome doctor, Morley Dwyer, but lets him know she is reluctant to begin any new relationships. A Night In Tunisia
"A Night in Tunisia" is a musical composition written by Dizzy Gillespie around 1940–42, while Gillespie was playing with the Benny Carter band. It has become a jazz standard. It is also known as "Interlude", and with lyrics by Raymond Leveen was recorded by Sarah Vaughan in 1944. Composition Gillespie called the tune "Interlude" and said "some genius decided to call it 'Night in Tunisia'". He said the tune was composed at the piano at Kelly's Stables in New York. He gave Frank Paparelli co-writer credit in compensation for some unrelated transcription work, but Paparelli had nothing to do with the song. "A Night in Tunisia" was one of the signature pieces of Gillespie's bebop big band, and he also played it with his small groups. In January 2004, The Recording Academy added the 1946 Victor recording by Gillespie to the Grammy Hall of Fame. On the album '' A Night at Birdland Vol. 1'', Art Blakey introduced his 1954 cover version with this statement: "At this time we'd like to ...
