''Head First'' is the third album by the Babys. Internal conflicts led to founder, guitarist and keyboard player Michael Corby being removed from the group by Chrysalis on 28 August 1978. The three remaining members—John Waite, Wally Stocker and Tony Brock—completed the album for a December 1978 release.''Anchorage Daily News'' 23 September 1978 ''Head First'' peaked at number 18 on the Australian chart. Album information Lead single status was afforded to "Every Time I Think of You," a track completed without Corby, who was friends with the tune's composers, Jack Conrad and Ray Kennedy, the team responsible for the Babys' previous Top 40 hit " Isn't It Time." Head First (Badfinger Album)
''Head First'' is the tenth and final studio album to be released by British rock band Badfinger, released on 14 November 2000, but recorded 26 years earlier in December 1974–January 1975, at the Beatles' Apple Studios in London, although it was not released at the time. Originally intended to be Badfinger's eighth album (and third album under its six-album contract with Warner Bros. Records) (WB), the recordings were shelved when legal difficulties erupted between the band and WB that year, and the version that was finally released (as Badfinger's tenth studio album) was a rough mix of the album made in 1975 by Phil McDonald, one of the recording engineers at Apple Studios. History After the recording of Badfinger's previous album, ''Wish You Were Here'', founding member Pete Ham decided to quit Badfinger. To replace him, the band added keyboardist/guitarist Bob Jackson and undertook a last tour with Ham still in the band. During the tour, Badfinger was told by its manageme ...

Head First (Uriah Heep Album)
''Head First'' is the fifteenth studio album by English rock band Uriah Heep. It was released in 1983, on Gerry Bron's UK label Bronze Records, and would be their final album for the label. The album was recorded by the line-up responsible for the previous year's ''Abominog'', but this time with a greater proportion of the songs written by the band members. Bob Daisley left the group shortly after the album's recording to rejoin Ozzy Osbourne; on the ''Head First'' tour former Heep bassist Trevor Bolder rejoined the band, effectively replacing his replacement, and remained with the band until his death in 2013. Though ''Head First'' was deemed to be a worthy successor to ''Abominog'' by critics such as Geoff Barton, it suffered from a lack of promotion as Bronze went into liquidation the month after its release. Video footage of the tour, from a show in New Zealand, was heavily featured on the long-form video ''Easy Livin': A History of Uriah Heep''. In Japan only, this was ...

Head First (book Series)
''Head First'' is a series of introductory instructional books to many topics, published by O'Reilly Media. It stresses an unorthodox, visually intensive, reader-involving combination of puzzles, jokes, nonstandard design and layout, and an engaging, conversational style to immerse the reader in a given topic. Originally, the series covered programming and software engineering, but is now expanding to other topics in science, mathematics and business, due to success. The series was created by Bert Bates and Kathy Sierra, and began with ''Head First Java'' in 2003. Concept The main idea of the series is to effectively stimulate the brain by: * Telling stories * Visualizing * Using attention-grabbing tactics: page layout, non-standard examples, puzzles, jokes, and other means. By using metacognition the series' authors and editors try to employ varied methods to present information and accelerate the learning process. Books The offerings in the Head First series are quickly ...

HeadFirst PD
HeadFirst Public Domain was a library of public domain software for the BBC Micro and Acorn Electron 8-bit computers. It also offered several discs of software for the Acorn Archimedes. History It was set up in December 1992 by two friends, Gareth Boden and James Treadwell. Gareth Boden seems to have done the majority of the programming. The friends were just leaving school at the time. It was a bedroom enterprise and HeadFirst PD produced paper catalogues of its products. The catalogues invited people to buy discs full of public domain software from HeadFirst PD for £1.25 per disc. There are relatively few demos on the Acorn Electron and HeadFirst PD was unusual in that it released the majority of its software for the Acorn Electron, not the more-popular BBC Micro. Indeed, several of the better HeadFirst PD demos were Electron-only. The ''Invader Demo'' and the ''Vortex Demo'' were prime examples. There are several different 'versions' of some HeadFirst PD discs, as the d ...
