Fotolog.com (originally Fotolog.net) was a social network for sharing primarily photos. The site claimed that its vision was to build a "good" social network which prioritizes the well-being of users. The site only allowed all members of the community to post once per day, which, according to the site, was aimed to end the overuse of social networking today and the meaningless consumption of content. In 2020 the Fotolog.com domain name was turned into an SEO spam blog. History Launched in May 2002, the Fotolog site formerly generated over 3 billion page views, and it received over 20 million unique visitors each month. In 2007, Fotolog.com was in the list of the top 20 busiest websites in the Alexa global site rankings. Fotolog used to be a registered trademark of Fotolog, Inc., which is a privately held company backed by BV Capital, 3i and several individual investors. A photoblog (or photolog) is a form of photo sharing and publishing in the format of a blog. It differs from a blog through the predominant use of and focus on photographs rather than text. Photoblogging (the action of posting photos to a photoblog) gained momentum in the early 2000s with the advent of the moblog and cameraphones. Construction There are three popular ways to host a photoblog. Photoblogs on individual domains, photoblogs on blogging hosting services such as WordPress or Blogger, and photoblogs on photo specific blogging services such as Fotolog or Flickr. Momus (artist)
Nicholas "Nick" Currie (born 11 February 1960), more popularly known under the artist name Momus (after the Greek god of mockery), is a Scottish musician and writer. For over forty years he has been releasing albums on labels in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan. In his lyrics and his other writing he makes use of continental philosophy, and has built up a personal world he says is "dominated by values like diversity, orientalism, and a respect for otherness". Scott Heiferman is an American community organizer, businessperson and internet entrepreneur. Heiferman co-founded Meetup and is the company's Chairman. Early life Scott Heiferman was born in 1972 in Homewood, Illinois. Heiferman has four siblings. While attending Homewood-Flossmoor High School, Heiferman sold coupon books for a nearby town, earning enough to pay for his first year of college. Pokemón (subculture)
Pokemón is a subculture among Chile's youth that surfaced in the mid-2000s and began to decline in late 2009. By 2012, it was considered extinct. They were readily identifiable by their angular and pressed hairstyles, reminiscent of characters from the Japanese media franchise Pokémon. It was one of the largest and better known urban tribes in the country. Pokemones dressed similarly to other urban tribes, such as otaku and emo; Pokemón is the fusion of otaku and flaite, but they were not actually followers of anime like the former, and did not share the musical tastes of the latter. Apart from borrowing aspects from the emo, like the sideswept bangs, the Pokemones also shared some aspects typical to the punk and the local "hardcore" subculture.
