Dokkaebi
Dokkaebi ( ko, 도깨비) are legendary creatures from Korean mythology and folklore. Dokkaebi, also known as "Korean goblins", are nature deities or spirits possessing extraordinary powers and abilities that are used to interact with humans, at times playing tricks on them and at times helping them. Legends describe different dokkaebi in many forms and beings with a thousand faces, and dokkaebi often wear hanbok. Origins The earliest known documentation of dokkaebi is in the Silla-era tale of "Lady Dohwa and Bachelor Bihyeong" from the Memorabilia of the Three Kingdoms compiled during the Goryeo period. Goblin
A goblin is a small, grotesque, monstrous creature that appears in the folklore of multiple European cultures. First attested in stories from the Middle Ages, they are ascribed conflicting abilities, temperaments, and appearances depending on the story and country of origin, ranging from mischievous household spirits to malicious, bestial thieves. They often have magical abilities similar to a fairy or demon, such as the ability to shapeshift. Similar creatures include brownies, dwarves, duendes, gnomes, imps, leprechauns, and kobolds, but it is also commonly used as a blanket term for all small, fay creatures. Durin-gut
The Durin-gut (), also called the Michin-gut () and the Chuneun-gut (), is the healing ceremony for mental illnesses in the Korean shamanism of southern Jeju Island. While commonly held as late as the 1980s, it has now become very rare due to the introduction of modern psychiatry. In Korean shamanism, a disease—whether physical or mental—is often thought to be caused by the entry of a malevolent spirit into the body. The Durin-gut seeks to cure the mental illness by exorcising this spirit, which is often identified as a '' yeonggam'', a type of ''dokkaebi'' or goblin-like being with a penchant for attaching to human women that he lusts for. Buyeo County
Buyeo County (''Buyeo-gun'') is a county in South Chungcheong Province, South Korea. Buyeo-eup, the county's capital, was the site of the capital of Baekje from 538-660 AD, during which it was called Sabi Fortress. ''Dragon Pearl'' is a middle grade novel written by Yoon Ha Lee and published on January 15, 2019 by Disney Hyperion under their "Rick Riordan Presents" publishing imprint. CLC (, an acronym for CrystaL Clear) was a South Korean girl group formed by Cube Entertainment. The group's final lineup was composed of Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Yeeun and Eunbin. Members Elkie and Sorn departed in 2021. Their debut EP ''First Love'' was released on March 19, 2015, with five group members: Seunghee, Yujin, Seungyeon, Sorn and Yeeun.
