The Double was a double hit by the Seattle Mariners' Edgar Martínez in the deciding Game 5 of Major League Baseball's 1995 American League Division Series on October 8, 1995. Double Duty (also referred to as the Indy-Charlotte Double or Memorial Day Double) is an American auto racing term used to describe one of the most difficult feats in motorsport: in a single day, competing in both the Indianapolis 500 IndyCar Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In basketball, a double-double is a single-game performance in which a player accumulates ten or more in two of the following five statistical categories: points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots. The first "double" in the term refers to the two (''double'') categories and the second "double" refers to accumulating ten or more (typically ''double'' digits) in that category.
