Di Bonaventura Pictures (also known as dB Pictures) is an American film and television production company founded in 2002 by Lorenzo di Bonaventura, who is known for producing the ''Transformers'' films. History On September 3, 2002, Lorenzo di Bonaventura announced that he would leave Warner Bros. to set up his own production company, and that it had a deal with Warner Bros. to produce the feature film ''Constantine,'' which was released in 2005. On December 17, 2002, three months after the company was formed, it signed a 3-year contract with Paramount Pictures to produce feature films. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (; born January 13, 1957) is an American film producer and founder and owner of Di Bonaventura Pictures. He is best known for producing the G.I. Joe and ''Transformers'' film series. The films he produced have earned over $7 billion at the box office. Life and career Di Bonaventura spent the 1990s as an executive in the film industry eventually rising to president of worldwide production for Warner Bros. Pictures. His production company -- Di Bonaventura Pictures—is based at Paramount Pictures. His tenure at Warner Bros. included discovering and shepherding ''The Matrix'' into production, purchasing the rights to the ''Harry Potter'' books by J. K. Rowling. In 2007 Di Bonaventura purchased the film rights to the six-part series of fantasy novels '' The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel'' by Michael Scott. John Singleton
John Daniel Singleton (January 6, 1968 April 28, 2019) was an American director, screenwriter, and producer. He made his feature film debut writing and directing ''Boyz n the Hood'' (1991), for which he was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director, becoming, at age 24, the first African American and youngest person to have ever been nominated for that award.
