ddrum is an American based Swedish company, currently a division of Armadillo Enterprises, Inc. that manufactures acoustic drum sets, electronic drum sets, and Electronic Triggers. Ddrum was originally a brand of Clavia, makers of the Nord series of keyboards and synthesizers. In 2005, the company was sold to Armadillo Enterprises, which expanded the brand from only electronic drums into a wider range of products. Acoustic drums Ddrum is a sister company to Dean Guitars and produces drums that fall into one of several series, grouped according to quality and materials used in construction. Vincent Paul Abbott (March 11, 1964 – June 22, 2018) was an American musician best known for being the drummer and co-founder of the heavy metal band Pantera. He also co-founded Damageplan in 2003 with his younger brother, 'Dimebag' Darrell Abbott, and was a member of Hellyeah for 12 years from 2006 until his death in 2018. Octobans, also known as tube toms, are deep, small diameter, single-head tom-toms. Octobans were originally grouped in melodically-tuned sets of eight, hence the name, in reference to octave and from octo meaning "eight". Part sets of two or four drums or an individual drum or octo are common additions to a drum kit. Complete and half sets of octobans are commonly mounted in clusters of four, in a square pattern. Trigger (drums)
In drumming, a trigger is an electronic transducer that can be attached to a drum, cymbal or other instrument to enable it to control an electronic drum unit or similar device. Specialised triggers are produced for specific instruments. A snare drum trigger, for example, will often have two channels, one each for the rim and head, while a tom-tom drum trigger usually needs to only register strokes to the drum head. Drum triggers gained great attention in the beginning of the 1990s, being extensively used on bass drums in heavy metal music. The advantage of using drum triggers is that potential problems associated with using microphones can be overcome by triggering pre-recorded samples.
