Caddy (web Server)
The Caddy web server is an extensible, cross-platform, open-source web server written in Go. The name "Caddy" refers both to a helper for tedious tasks, and a way to organize multiple parts into a simplified system. At its core, Caddy is an extensible platform for deploying long-running services ("apps") using a single, unified configuration that can be updated on-line with a REST API. Official Caddy distributions ship with a set of standard modules which include HTTP server, TLS automation, and PKI apps. It is best known for its automatic HTTPS features. Matthew Holt initially began solo development on Caddy in 2014, followed by the first public release in 2015. The software soon became a public collaboration with hundreds of contributors on GitHub. Caddie
In golf, a caddie (or caddy) is the person who carries a player's bag and clubs, and gives the player advice and moral support. Description A good caddie is aware of the challenges and obstacles of the golf course being played, along with the best strategy in playing it. This includes knowing overall yardage, pin placements and club selection. A caddie is not usually an employee of a private club or resort. They are classified as an "independent contractor", meaning that they are basically self-employed and do not receive any benefits or perks from their association with the club. Some clubs and resorts do have caddie programs, although benefits are rarely offered. Particularly in Europe, the vast majority of clubs do not offer caddies, and amateur players will commonly carry or pull their own bags. In computer hardware, a caddy is a container used to hold some medium, such as a CD-ROM. If the medium is a hard disk drive, the caddy is also referred to as a disk enclosure. Its functionality is similar to that of the 3.5" floppy disk's jacket. The purpose of a disk caddy is to protect the disk from damage when handling; its use dates back to at least the Capacitance Electronic Disc in 1976, and they were used in initial versions of Blu-ray Discs, though as a cost-saving measure newer versions use hard-coating technology to prevent scratches and do not need a caddy. Caddies may be an integral part of the medium, as in some DVD-RAM discs, or separately attached. A tea caddy is a box, jar, canister, or other receptacle used to store tea. When first introduced to Europe from Asia, tea was extremely expensive, and kept under lock and key. The containers used were often expensive and decorative, to fit in with the rest of a drawing-room or other reception room. Hot water was carried up from the kitchen, and the tea made by the mistress of the house, or under her supervision. The word is believed to be derived from catty, the Chinese pound, equal to about a pound and a third avoirdupois.
