Bishop Of Copenhagen
The Diocese of Copenhagen (Danish: ''Københavns Stift'') is a diocese within the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark. The Bishop of Copenhagen is currently Peter Skov-Jakobsen, who replaced Erik Normann Svendsen in 2009. The main cathedral of the diocese is the Church of Our Lady in Copenhagen. The Bishop of Zealand formerly held this title, until the Diocese of Copenhagen was created in 1922. Though the bishop acts as the main authority among other bishops, the supreme authority of the church rests with The Queen of Denmark, while the administrative head is the Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs. The Diocese of Copenhagen was formed in 1922 when the Diocese of Zealand was divided in two, the other portion forming the Diocese of Roskilde. The diocese was further split in 1961, when the Diocese ...

List Of Lutheran Dioceses And Archdioceses
This is a list of Lutheran dioceses and archdioceses currently active, grouped by national (or regional) church, and showing the titles of the bishops of those dioceses. Where relevant, the metropolitan bishop or primate is listed first. As in other Christian denominations, many Lutheran metropolitan bishops and primate bishops bear the title ''archbishop''. This list does not contain historical or defunct dioceses, although links are provided (at the end of the list) to former Lutheran dioceses of particular historical note. This list is solely for dioceses of those Lutheran churches which have retained, or established, episcopal polity. There are also many Lutheran churches with congregational polity, which do not have bishops, or who use the title bishop for their presiding officer, but in a sense other than that of the historic episcopate. At that time, the Roman-Catholic Bishop of Roskilde had his bishop's palace on Vor Frue Plads on the other side of the street, where it had been built after Bishop Henrik Gertsen gave up Absalon's Castle on Slotsholmen to King Valdemar IV in 1350.
