Binary Images
A binary image is one that consists of pixels that can have one of exactly two colors, usually black and white. Binary images are also called ''bi-level'' or ''two-level'', Pixel art, Pixelart made of two colours is often referred to as ''1-Bit'' or ''1bit''. This means that each pixel is stored as a single bit—i.e., a 0 or 1. The names ''black-and-white'', ''B&W'', monochrome or monochrome, monochromatic are often used for this concept, but may also designate any images that have only one sample per pixel, such as Grayscale, grayscale images. In Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop parlance, a binary image is the same as an image in "Bitmap" mode. Binary images often arise in digital image processing as Mask (computing)#Image masks, masks or Thresholding (image processing), thresholding, and dithering. A neighbourhood (British English, Irish English, Australian English and Canadian English) or neighborhood (American English; see spelling differences) is a geographically localised community within a larger city, town, suburb or rural area, sometimes consisting of a single street and the buildings lining it. Neighbourhoods are often social communities with considerable face-to-face interaction among members. Researchers have not agreed on an exact definition, but the following may serve as a starting point: "Neighbourhood is generally defined spatially as a specific geographic area and functionally as a set of social networks.
