A Child's Guide To Good And Evil
''Volume 3: A Child's Guide to Good and Evil'' is the fourth album by the American psychedelic rock band The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band (WCPAEB), and was released on Reprise Records in May 1968. By the time the group commenced recording ''Volume 3'', guitarist Danny Harris had excused himself from the WCPAEB, reducing their numbers to a trio. As with the WCPAEB's earlier work, the album saw the band continue to blend psychedelic influences and complex studio techniques, and was marked by a bizarre fusion of innocence and malice in the band's lyrics. ''Volume 3'' featured the WCPAEB's most ambitious music to date, and the striking cover art of John Van Hamersveld, yet it failed to sell in sufficient copies to chart nationally. In more recent times, the album has been considered the band's most accomplished work and a masterpiece of the psychedelic genre. Background The WCPAEB had toured extensively on the Los Angeles live circuit during the first two years of their e ... The Kids Have Eyes
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things that are already or about to be mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with nouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of the archaic ... Volume 3 (Fabrizio De André Album)
''Volume 3'' (''Vol. 3°'') is the third album released by Italian singer-songwriter Fabrizio De André. It was first issued in 1968 on Bluebell Records and is De André's last studio release on Bluebell. Of the songs contained in the album, only four were previously unreleased; the other ones are re-recordings of tracks originally issued on 45-rpm records during De André's early stint with the Karim label. Track listing The songs *"La canzone di Marinella" became De André's first hit as soon as Mina made a re-recording of it, after De André's original (as featured here) had made no impact on the charts. Its lyrics, in a very sweetened, sugar-coated style, tell the story (mentioned as true in the opening line) of the rape and murder of a young girl; the lyrics, as De André revealed in a 1991 Rai 1 interview with Vincenzo Mollica, are based on the actual murder of a 16-year-old girl during the early 1960s in Genoa, identified by the local papers as a prostitute; her killer ... (The Subliminal Verses)
''Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)'' is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Slipknot, released on May 25, 2004, by Roadrunner Records. A special edition, containing a bonus disc, was released on April 12, 2005. It is the band's only album produced by Rick Rubin. Following the band's tour to promote its second album in 2002, speculation regarding the future began. Some band members had already been involved in side projects including Murderdolls, To My Surprise, and the reformation of Stone Sour. In 2003, Slipknot moved into The Mansion to work on the album. Initially, the band was unproductive; lead vocalist Corey Taylor was drinking heavily. Nevertheless, the band managed to write more than enough material for a new album. ''Vol. 3'' is credited as Slipknot's first to incorporate more traditional, melodic song structures, guitar solos and acoustic instruments. The album received generally positive reviews. Slipknot was praised by AllMusic for its "dedication ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Volume (magazine)
''Volume'' was a magazine in the form of a series of compact disc compilation albums that were published in the UK in the early to mid 1990s. The albums typically contained exclusive tracks and remixes from a diverse range of indie artists. Each album was packaged with a 192-page booklet that contained features on the artists, and original articles. The booklet was the size and shape of a CD jewel case, and was usually packaged with the CD case in a cardboard sleeve. ''Volume One'', the first issue, was published in September 1991. The series came to an end in January 1997, with Volume Seventeen. Concept Rob Deacon and Robin Gibson thought up the concept of a CD and complementary book in the early 1990s, but found that publishers were reluctant to invest in it because the shops were full of discount hit compilations, and pressed them to rethink their idea and lower the quality of the book. Gibson was unwilling to do so, having seen similar projects fail because both the CD and pub ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Traveling Wilburys Vol
Travel is the movement of people between distant geographical locations. Travel can be done by foot, bicycle, automobile, train, boat, bus, airplane, ship or other means, with or without luggage, and can be one way or round trip. Travel can also include relatively short stays between successive movements, as in the case of tourism. Etymology The origin of the word "travel" is most likely lost to history. The term "travel" may originate from the Old French word ''travail'', which means 'work'. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the first known use of the word ''travel'' was in the 14th century. It also states that the word comes from Middle English , (which means to torment, labor, strive, journey) and earlier from Old French (which means to work strenuously, toil). In English, people still occasionally use the words , which means struggle. According to Simon Winchester in his book ''The Best Travelers' Tales (2004)'', the words ''travel'' and ''travail'' both ...
