''Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday'' is a 1993 American supernatural slasher film directed by Adam Marcus, written by Jay Huguely and Dean Lorey, and produced by Sean S. Cunningham. It is the ninth installment of the ''Friday the 13th'' franchise, and stars John D. LeMay, Kari Keegan, Steven Williams, and Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees; the latter reprising his role from the previous two films. It is the first film in the series to be distributed by New Line Cinema. Set after the events of '' Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan'', the film follows Jason's spirit as it possesses various people to continue his killings after his death. Adam Marcus (director)
Adam Marcus (born 1970) is an American film director, writer and actor. Family and education Marcus was born in Westport, Connecticut and attended Staples High School. Marcus was raised in Reform Judaism. His brother, Kipp Marcus would become an actor and be nominated for a Young Artist Award Adam Marcus started his career at the age of fifteen, when he co-created the Westport Theatreworks Theatrical Company where he directed and produced over fifty shows in seven years. Slasher Film
A slasher film is a genre of horror films involving a killer stalking and murdering a group of people, usually by use of bladed or sharp tools like knife, chainsaw, scalpel, etc. Although the term "slasher" may occasionally be used informally as a generic term for any horror film involving murder, film analysts cite an established set of characteristics which set slasher films apart from other horror subgenres, such as monster movies, splatter films, supernatural and psychological horror films. In the United States, a SWAT team (special weapons and tactics, originally special weapons assault team) is a police tactical unit that uses specialized or military equipment and tactics.
