The Complete Prestige Recordings (John Coltrane Album)
The Prestige Recordings is a box set by jazz musician John Coltrane. Reception In review for AllMusic Lindsay Planer wrote: "The 16 CDs in this compendium represent nearly everything that John Coltrane recorded for the Prestige label during a 32-month period between May 7, 1956, and December 26, 1958... Accompanying the music is a 32-page liner notes booklet. Inside are a historical essay from Doug Ramsey, a session-by-session breakdown by Carl Woideck..., and several different cross-references of the contents. Overall, the audio quality is excellent throughout, especially considering that the original tapes were transferred during the infancy of digital audio technology." The authors of ''The Penguin Guide to Jazz'' commented: "The boxed set offers the most comprehensive and, for most listeners, exhaustive documentation of Trane's time with the label... It reveals the saxophonist still in larval stage and not yet the compellingly beautiful imago of the Atlantic years." Track list ...

The Complete Atlantic Recordings
''The'' () is a grammatical article in English, denoting persons or things that are already or about to be mentioned, under discussion, implied or otherwise presumed familiar to listeners, readers, or speakers. It is the definite article in English. ''The'' is the most frequently used word in the English language; studies and analyses of texts have found it to account for seven percent of all printed English-language words. It is derived from gendered articles in Old English which combined in Middle English and now has a single form used with nouns of any gender. The word can be used with both singular and plural nouns, and with a noun that starts with any letter. This is different from many other languages, which have different forms of the definite article for different genders or numbers. Pronunciation In most dialects, "the" is pronounced as (with the voiced dental fricative followed by a schwa) when followed by a consonant sound, and as (homophone of the archaic pron ...

The Complete Village Vanguard Recordings, 1961
''The Complete Village Vanguard Recordings, 1961'', a three-CD box set released in 2005, marks the first time the entire Bill Evans Trio's complete sets at the Village Vanguard on June 25, 1961 have been released in their entirety (outside of the twelve-disc set containing Evans' complete Riverside recordings). It also marks the first US release of the first take of "Gloria's Step," which is incomplete due to a power failure. These sets, from which the classic LPs ''Sunday at the Village Vanguard'' and '' Waltz for Debby'' were drawn, were the trio's final live recordings. Bassist Scott LaFaro would die in an automobile accident on July 6. The album was deemed by the Library of Congress to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically important" and added to the United States National Recording Registry for the year 2009. The Penguin Guide to Jazz Recordings included the set as part of its suggested "core collection". Track listing Disc one Afternoon Set 1 # Spoken ...

The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings
''The Complete Reprise Studio Recordings'' is a 1995 box set album by the American singer Frank Sinatra. The release coincided with Sinatra's 80th birthday celebration. The original 1995 packaging had the 20 discs encased in a small, leather-bound trunk. When it was re-released in 1998, it was repackaged in a more-standard (and cheaper) cardboard format. Features As the title implies, the set claims to contain every song ever recorded in the studio during Sinatra's career with Reprise Records, but misses the 49-second "I'm Getting Sentimental Over You (Reprise)" included as the closing track from the 1961 album ''I Remember Tommy'' and also leaves off a remake of " Body and Soul" and "Leave It All To Me" (a song written by Paul Anka), in addition to several alternate versions of songs included in the set. The set is the largest ever released for Sinatra to-date, containing 452 tracks on twenty compact discs. The albums represented are: #''Ring-a-Ding-Ding!'' #'' Swing Along ...

Background ''The Complete MCA Studio Recordings'' collects Griffith's four studio albums recorded with MCA between 1987 and 1991. The compilation chronicles a period in the label's history when it signed "left-of-center" country artists including Griffith, Steve Earle, and Lyle Lovett. When Griffith's first two albums, ''Lone Star State of Mind'' and ''Little Love Affairs'', failed to produce a major country hit, she was moved to MCA's pop division where she released ''Storms'' and ''Late Night Grande Hotel'', the latter of which alie ...
