Terror (from French ''terreur'', from Latin ''terror'' "great fear", ''terrere'' "to frighten") is a policy of political repression and violence intended to subdue political opposition. The term was first used for the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution. Before the late twentieth century, the term ''"terrorism"'' in the English language was often used interchangeably with "''terror''." Some contemporary writers use the term ''terrorism'' to refer to acts by groups with a limited political base or parties on the weaker side in asymmetric warfare and ''terror'' to refer to acts by governments and law enforcement officials, usually within the legal framework of the state. Terror (album)
is the eighteenth studio album by the Japanese heavy metal band Loudness. It was released only in Japan, in January 2004. The album is one of the heaviest released by the band, and was created with a theme of horror and terror. This theme is also reflected in the album artwork. The band display influences from Black Sabbath, and the album overall has a doom metal type sound. The Reign of Terror (french: link=no, la Terreur) was a period of the French Revolution when, following the creation of the First Republic, a series of massacres and numerous public executions took place in response to revolutionary fervour, anticlerical sentiment, and accusations of treason by the Committee of Public Safety. There is disagreement among historians over when exactly "the Terror" began. Some consider it to have begun only in 1793, giving the date as either 5 September, June or March, when the Revolutionary Tribunal came into existence. Others, however, cite the earlier time of the September Massacres in 1792, or even July 1789, when the first killing of the revolution occurred. Die Ärzte (; ) is a German rock band from Berlin. The band has released 14 studio albums. The group consists of guitarist Farin Urlaub, drummer Bela B and bass player Rodrigo González. All three write and perform their songs. Susumu Hirasawa
is a Japanese musician and composer. In the fifth year of elementary school, Hirasawa took up the electric guitar, inspired by the surf and instrumental rock bands he heard on the radio and on TV, later joining his junior high school's band. In 1973 he formed Mandrake, a progressive rock band that incorporated elements from heavy metal and krautrock. Being one of the few Japanese progressive rock bands of its time, Mandrake achieved little success and released no albums during its lifetime. After discovering punk rock and working on synthesizer-heavy projects, Hirasawa felt that progressive rock became just for entertainment and decided to reform the band as the electronic rock band P-Model in 1979. ''The Terror'' is the thirteenth studio album by experimental rock band the Flaming Lips, released on April 1, 2013 worldwide and April 16 in the U.S., on Warner Bros in the United States and Bella Union in the United Kingdom. It is the first album for band member Derek Brown. Lead vocalist Wayne Coyne described the album's general idea in a press release:"We want, or wanted, to believe that without love we would disappear, that love, somehow, would save us that, yeah, if we have love, give love and know love, we are truly alive and if there is no love, there would be no life. Due to quick sales within a small amount of time, a second pressing was released a year later, along with their EP Sexual Beast ''Sexual Beast'' is an EP released by D'espairsRay on June 5, 2002. Brisk sales resulted in a reissue just one month after the initial pressing. While the first pressings of the album were housed in a digipak case featuring the painting The Execu .... While the first pressing came in a regular jewel case, the reissue had a special sleevecase with new artwork. Evildead is an American thrash metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1986. The band was originally composed of members of two former bands, Agent Steel and Abattoir (band), Abattoir, including guitarist Juan Garcia (guitarist), Juan Garcia, who is their only remaining original member. During their initial nine-year run, Evildead released only two studio albums: ''Annihilation of Civilization'' (1989) and ''The Underworld (album), The Underworld'' (1991).
