Sleepy Head (Adventures Of Pow Wow)
''Adventures of Pow Wow'' is an American animated cartoon that was broadcast on the '' Captain Kangaroo'' show during the 1950s. The series is in the public domain due to failure to renew copyright. Plot The cartoon features the pre-adolescent Native American boy Pow Wow, as well as the tribe's medicine man, and a Native American girl who is a friend of Pow Wow's. The cartoons often center on Pow Wow's discovery of an animal, hurt or otherwise, and his attempts to protect the forest and wildlife from various threats. When Pow Wow needs help in these missions, he seeks counsel from the wise medicine man. Broadcast history The cartoon first aired during the children's show ''Captain Kangaroo'' in 1956 and was syndicated by Screen Gems. It continued on ''Captain Kangaroo'' as a series of five-minute episodes until 1958. The cartoons were then once again syndicated and appeared locally in New York and Chicago. "Soul Singing" is a song by the United States, American Rock music, rock band The Black Crowes, released on July 23, 2001, as the second single from the group's sixth studio album Lions (album), ''Lions''. Writing and production "Soul Singing" was co-written, like all original Black Crowes songs, by Chris Robinson (singer), Chris and Rich Robinson. The song began with a riff that Rich had written a "long time" before the recording of ''Lions''. Chris then added the vocal melodies and corresponding lyrics, which pertained to his then-wife, Kate Hudson. While Chris believed this early form of "Soul Singing", with one instrumental section throughout, sufficed, Rich argued a second section was needed. "So we talked about that one for a while", recalled Rich, who ultimately won the argument. Billy Hill (July 14, 1899 – December 24, 1940) was an American songwriter, violinist, and pianist who found fame writing Western songs such as "They Cut Down the Old Pine Tree", "The Last Round-Up", "Wagon Wheels", and " Empty Saddles". Hill's most popular song was " The Glory of Love", recorded by Benny Goodman in 1936, and subsequently by Peggy Lee, Otis Redding, Paul McCartney, and others. Early years William Joseph Hill was born on July 14, 1899 in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. He studied the violin at the New England Conservatory of Music under Karl Muck, and played with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Hill left home at the age of seventeen and headed west, where he worked as a cowboy in Montana, and as a surveyor and prospector in Death Valley, California. Korean Bodega
"Korean Bodega" is a single released in 1999, and was the final single taken from Fun Lovin' Criminals's second album '' 100% Colombian''. The release of the single was cross-promoted by an electronica version of the song arranged by Garbage, on which singer Shirley Manson performed a guest vocal for the refrain. The new version was part of a remix trade between both bands, where Fun Lovin' Criminals remixed Garbage's single "You Look So Fine" in reciprocation. Single release "Korean Bodega" was released by Chrysalis Records on April 26, 1999, and was heavily promoted Garbage's remix, and the fact that Shirley Manson had contributed vocals to the remix. Released on two CD singles and cassette single, the Garbage remix featured on two of the formats, while the original album version on one.
