Sinatra–Jobim Sessions
The ''Sinatra–Jobim Sessions'' is a 1979 double LP compilation album of American singer Frank Sinatra's work with Antônio Carlos Jobim. The album was published only in Brazil by producer Roberto Quartin, and had never been re-released on vinyl or CD until 2010 when it was re-mastered and released under The Frank Sinatra Collection and became available worldwide. All but three songs recorded by Sinatra and Jobim in 1967 and 1969 were released on ''Francis Albert Sinatra & Antônio Carlos Jobim'' (1967) and ''Sinatra & Company'' (1971). The tracks "Bonita", "Sabiá", and "Off Key (Desafinado)", however, were originally only available on the 8-track ''Sinatra-Jobim'' (1969), which was quickly pulled from releas The first two of these tracks later appeared on the 1977 UK compilation album '' Portrait of Sinatra – Forty Songs from the Life of a Man, Portrait of Sinatra'', but were also included on ''Sinatra-Jobim Sessions'', making it eagerly sought by collectors. Concord Records is an American record label owned by Concord and based in Los Angeles, California. Irving Berlin
Irving Berlin (born Israel Beilin; yi, ישראל ביילין; May 11, 1888 – September 22, 1989) was a Russian-American composer, songwriter and lyricist. His music forms a large part of the Great American Songbook. Born in Imperial Russia, Berlin arrived in the United States at the age of five. Ray Gilbert (September 5, 1912 – March 3, 1976) was an American lyricist. He grew up in Hartford, Connecticut. Career Gilbert is best remembered for the lyrics to the Oscar-winning song "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" from the film ''Song of the South'', which he wrote with Allie Wrubel in 1947. He also wrote American English lyrics for the songs in ''The Three Caballeros'' featuring Donald Duck. Dindi
"Dindi" ( - which sounds like Jin-jee in English) is a song composed by Antônio Carlos Jobim, with lyrics by Aloysio de Oliveira. It is a world-famous bossa nova and jazz standard song. Jobim wrote this piece especially for the Brazilian singer Sylvia Telles. "Dindi" is a reference to a farm named "Dirindi", in Brazil, a place that Jobim and his friend/collaborator Vinicius de Moraes used to visit (according to Helena Jobim, his sister, in her book "Antonio Carlos Jobim - Um Homem Iluminado"). Cole Porter
Cole Albert Porter (June 9, 1891 – October 15, 1964) was an American composer and songwriter. Many of his songs became standards noted for their witty, urbane lyrics, and many of his scores found success on Broadway and in film. Born to a wealthy family in Indiana, Porter defied his grandfather's wishes for him to practice law and took up music as a profession. Classically trained, he was drawn to musical theatre. After a slow start, he began to achieve success in the 1920s, and by the 1930s he was one of the major songwriters for the Broadway musical stage. Unlike many successful Broadway composers, Porter wrote the lyrics as well as the music for his songs. After a serious horseback riding accident in 1937, Porter was left disabled and in constant pain, but he continued to work. George Forrest (born George Forrest Chichester Jr., July 31, 1915 – October 10, 1999) was an American writer of music and lyrics for musical theatre best known for the show '' Kismet'', adapted from the works of Alexander Borodin. He was also known professionally at times as Chet Forrest. Biography Throughout his career Forrest worked exclusively with the composer-lyricist Robert Wright.
