The Shining (novel)
''The Shining'' is a 1977 horror novel by American author Stephen King. It is King's third published novel and first hardback bestseller; its success firmly established King as a preeminent author in the horror genre. The setting and characters are influenced by King's personal experiences, including both his visit to The Stanley Hotel in 1974 and his struggle with alcoholism. The novel was adapted into a 1980 film of the same name. The book was followed by a sequel, '' Doctor Sleep'', published in 2013, which was adapted into a film of the same name. ''The Shining'' centers on the life of Jack Torrance, a struggling writer and recovering alcoholic who accepts a position as the off-season caretaker of the historic Overlook Hotel in the Colorado Rockies. Tuonela (album)
''Tuonela'' is the fourth full-length album by Finnish metal band Amorphis. This marks the first album by the band to feature Santeri Kallio on keyboards who performed as a session member and joined the band after in 1998. The album is named from Tuonela, the realm of the dead in Finnish mythology. The album also shares inspiration with many of the band's productions in the text and themes of the Kalevala, or Finnish Epic. This album was the last release with original and long time bassist, Olli-Pekka Laine, until his return on 2018's '' Queen of Time''. Laine quit a year after this release in 2000, because of musical differences and to focus on his family. (pronounced as "Loo-min-ess") is a puzzle video game series developed by Q Entertainment. The core objective of the games is to survive by rotating and aligning 2×2 blocks varying between two colors to form 2×2 squares of a single color which will be erased when the Time Line passes over them. The game is lost when the blocks reach the top of the playing field. The series was initially conceived when Tetsuya Mizuguchi heard about the PlayStation Portable and wanted to develop a game for it. ''Clarity'' is the debut mixtape by German singer Kim Petras, released on 28 June 2019. Nine of its twelve tracks were released beforehand, beginning in April 2019. It was produced by Made in China, Aaron Joseph, Brandon Hamlin, Jussifer, Oliver and Ben Billions. Musically, it contains elements of synth-pop, bubblegum pop, hip hop, contemporary R&B, glam rock and emo pop. Petras stated that this project is her "personal journey over the last two years", and it has received widespread critical acclaim. The first song that was released from ''Clarity'' was "Broken", on 25 April 2019 written by Petras herself and co-writer Anthony Medina. is a Japanese pop singer and lyricist. She is best known as a member of the Konami-produced Japanese teen pop girl group BeForU. Biography Early life Kosaka was born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan on January 17, 1985. ''Pleased to Meet You'' is the ninth studio album by English rock band James. Less than a year after the release of ''Millionaires'' (1999), the band were playing new material live. Recording was split between Ridge Farm, Whitfield St., House in the Woods studios; producer credit was split between Brian Eno, guitarist/violinist Saul Davies, KK and the band. "Getting Away with It (All Messed Up)" was released as a single in late June, followed a week later by ''Pleased to Meet You'' on 2 July through Mercury Records.
