''Las armas secretas'' (translates to ''The Secret Weapons'' in English) is a book of five short stories written by Julio Cortázar. The latter four stories appear in translation in the volume ''Blow-up and Other Stories'' (alternatively titled ''The End of the Game and Other Stories''); the first story, "Cartas de Mamá," was published by Sublunary Editions as a stand-alone paperback in English translation by Magdalena Edwards in 2022. Secret Weapon (group)
Secret Weapon was a New York-based short-lived post-disco music group, formed by Jerome Prister. The group had a number of hits throughout the 1980s with their most successful single being "Must Be the Music" which hit #24 on the R&B chart and #66 on the dance chart in 1982. Post-breakup Band founder Jerome Prister went on to form the short-lived off-shoot group Output and later released several solo singles, along with a 1989 studio album, under the name Jerome "Secret Weapon" Prister. He died of a stroke in 2007. Singer Michele Blackmon, who also co-wrote "Must Be the Music," later began working as a unit team member managing inmates at a correctional facility, although she would continue performing/entertaining on the side until shortly before her death in late 2014. Secret Weapon's Djuana "DJ" Thomas is a radio personality on Atlanta's WRDA. Secret Weapons (band)
Secret Weapons is a Brooklyn-based American pop band made up of Gerry Lange and Danny Rocco. The duo is signed to the label Epic Records, where Rocco worked as a lawyer in the label's legal department. They released their self-titled EP ''Secret Weapons'' in 2016. The duo is best known for their single "Something New" released in 2015. In November 2015, the duo was picked as Elvis Duran's Artist of the Month and was featured on NBC's ''Today'' show hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb and broadcast nationally where they performed live their single "Something New". A music video was released on April 12, 2016, and was directed by Nathan Cox. Permanent hiatus (2018) On January 30, 2018, Gerry Lange made a Facebook post announcing his deteriorating health condition and a hiatus for the band. ''Secret Weapon'' is eighth studio album by punk rock band MxPx and is considered a "back to roots" album for the group. ''Secret Weapon'' is available in three different versions: * The standard version with 16 tracks * A double 12-inch vinyl version with special artwork * A special edition with a "Making of..." DVD, new artwork, and three extra tracks Background On November 7, 2006, it was announced the group had re-signed with Tooth & Nail Records.
