Release (Cop Shoot Cop Album)
''Release'' is the fourth and final album by American noise rock group Cop Shoot Cop, released on September 13, 1994 by Interscope Records. The group expanded to a quintet with new member Steven McMillen on guitar and trumpet, and keyboardist Jim Coleman shifted from his sample-based approach to more use of convention piano than the group's earlier albums. Trombonist David Ouimet, then of Motherhead Bug, was a guest on two songs. Cop Shoot Cop dissolved amid creative disagreement and personal problems while recording their fifth album which was never officially released but demos have been bootlegged. Frontman Tod Ashley quickly formed Firewater, and the other members of Cop Shoot Cop moved on to various musical efforts. Coleman worked solo under the name Phylr, while drummer Phil Puleo became a longtime member of fellow New Yorkers Swans and Jack Natz worked with Lubricated Goat. ''Release'' went out of print from Interscope in the U.S., but was re-issued by Cleopatra Reco ...

Tormato
''Tormato'' is the ninth studio album by English progressive rock band Yes. It was released on 22 September 1978 on Atlantic Records, and is their last album with singer Jon Anderson and keyboardist Rick Wakeman before their departure from the group in 1980. After touring their previous album ''Going for the One'' (1977), the band entered rehearsals in London to record a follow-up. The album was affected by various problems, such as internal disputes over the direction of the music and artwork, and the departure of engineer Eddy Offord early into the sessions, resulting in the group producing the album themselves. The album received a mixed response from critics yet it became a commercial success. It reached No. 8 in the UK and No. 10 in the US, where it became the band's fastest selling album and reached platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America within two months for selling one million copies. "Don't Kill the Whale" was released as a single that r ...

Ten (Pearl Jam Album)
''Ten'' is the debut studio album by American rock band Pearl Jam, released on August 27, 1991, through Epic Records. Following the dissolution of their previous band Mother Love Bone in 1990, bassist Jeff Ament and guitarist Stone Gossard began rehearsing with new guitarist Mike McCready. The group recorded a five-song instrumental demo tape with Matt Cameron on drums. Copies of the demo were eventually given to drummer Dave Krusen and vocalist Eddie Vedder, both of whom were invited to audition for the band in Seattle. Many of the songs on ''Ten'' were instrumental jams or reworked Mother Love Bone songs for which Vedder composed new melodies and lyrics. Despite its reputation as a quintessential grunge album, ''Ten'' is often noted for displaying a stronger classic rock influence than other contemporary grunge releases. In a review for AllMusic, Steve Huey asserts that the band's "intricately arranged guitar textures and expansive harmonic vocabulary... especially recalled Jimi ...

Standing Stone (album)
''Standing Stone'' is Paul McCartney's second full-length release of original classical music (coming after 1991's ''Liverpool Oratorio''), although he defined it as orchestral music. It was issued shortly after the release of ''Flaming Pie''. The world premiere performance was held at The Royal Albert Hall on 14 October 1997. History Following up on 1991's '' Paul McCartney's Liverpool Oratorio'', the ''Standing Stone'' project was composed out of a long poem McCartney authored to describe the way Celtic man might have wondered about the origins of life and the mystery of existence. McCartney composed the work as a commission from Richard Lyttleton, the then president of EMI Classics, to celebrate EMI's centenary. Unlike ''Liverpool Oratorio'', the project was not an operatic performance of a story, but an instrumental one, though employing the use of a choir. For the first time in his career, McCartney used a personal computer and software to help compose. The work was record ...
