Pavel Gusev (journalist)
Pavel Nikolayevich Gusev (russian: Павел Николаевич Гусев; born 4 April 1949, Moscow) is a Russian journalist and public figure. He has been the editor-in-chief of the Moscow daily newspaper ''Moskovskij Komsomolets'' since 1983. He is a professor of journalism at the International University in Moscow and a member of Russia's Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights. He is also the head of the Moscow Union of Journalists. Early life and education Gusev was born on 4 April 1949 in Moscow, Russia. He graduated from the Russian State Geological Prospecting University in 1971. From 1971-1975, Gusev was a junior research associate at the Russian State Geological Prospecting University. Then he earned a graduate degree in literature from Maxim Gorky Literature Institute in 1985. Career Gusev was involved in the Communist youth organization Komsomol from 1975 right up till 1983.
