''Tommy Cooper: Not Like That, Like This'' is a 2014 television film, made by Left Bank Pictures, about British comedian Tommy Cooper. Plot The film focuses on the life of the late Tommy Cooper, the popular British comedian, and the dilemma he faced when he fell in love with his assistant Mary Kay. At the time he was married to Gwen, whom he affectionately nicknamed ''Dove''. Tommy was unable to choose between the two women and embarked upon a dual relationship that would last for 17 years. Cooper died during a live TV recording of '' Live from Her Majesty's'' in front of millions of television viewers on 15 April 1984. Simon Nye
Simon Nye (born 29 July 1958) is an English screenwriter, best known for television comedy. He wrote the hit British sitcom, sitcom ''Men Behaving Badly'', and all of the four ITV Pantos. He co-wrote the 2006 film ''Flushed Away'', created an adaptation of Richmal Crompton's ''Just William (book series), Just William'' books in 2010, and wrote the drama series ''The Durrells''. Early life Nye was born in Burgess Hill, West Sussex, Sussex. Nye was educated at The College of Richard Collyer, Collyer's School and Bedford College (London), Bedford College, University of London, where he studied French and German. Gerald Harrison (24 June 1942 – 3 January 1986), who performed under the name Dustin Gee, was a British impressionist and comedian, best known for his double act with Les Dennis. Ken Brooke (3 November 1920 – 26 February 1983) was a stage magician who ran a magic shop in London, where for 50 years he trained many well-known magicians. Career Brooke gave his first performance at the age of seven.
