Alice Nellis (born 3 January 1971 in České Budějovice) is a Czech Filmmaking, filmmaker. Nellis first worked as a Western concert flute, flautist before studying English literature and American literature. In 1996–2001 she studied Screenwriting, scriptwriting and dramaturgy at Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, FAMU. She worked temporarily as a web designer for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Czech Republic), Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a teacher, actress, translator and was filming short films and TV documentaries. Her first feature film (directed and scripted) ''Eeny meeny'' (2000) won the screenplay award of the FAMU Festival. Marvin Duane Nellis (born July 26, 1954) is an American educator, university administrator, and 21st president of Ohio University in Athens. He was previously the president of Texas Tech University and the University of Idaho. Nellis previously served as provost and senior vice president at Kansas State University, and dean of the Eberly College of Arts and Science at West Virginia University. William Harrell Nellis
William Harrell Nellis (March 8, 1916 – December 27, 1944) was a United States fighter pilot who flew 70 World War II combat missions. He was shot down three times, the last time fatally. On April 30, 1950, the Las Vegas Air Force Base in Nevada was renamed Nellis Air Force Base in his honor. Soon after his birth in Santa Rita, New Mexico, Nellis and his parents Cecil and Marguerite, moved to Searchlight, Nevada, and, when he was 13, to Las Vegas. Nellis graduated from Las Vegas High School; he did not go to college, but subsequently joined the Army Enlisted Reserve Corps on December 9, 1942, training in Albany, Georgia. He was commissioned a flight officer on January 7, 1944. and on July 9, Nellis was assigned to the 513th Fighter Squadron, in support of General George Patton's Third Army. Nellis Prison Camp was a United States federal minimum-security prison, also known as a Federal Prison Camp (FPC), located on Nellis Air Force Base in the state of Nevada. Nellis Tavern is a historic inn and tavern located at St. Johnsville in Montgomery County, New York. It was built about 1747-1750 as a farmhouse and expanded about 1790 to its present form. It is a two-story, five-by-two-bay frame residence constructed atop a coursed rubblestone foundation. The building has been restored to the period of about 1835, when it was used as a tavern. After the American Civil War the tavern business declined and the building was used again as a family farmhouse. Nellis Historic District is a national historic district located at Nellis, Boone County, West Virginia. It encompasses 82 contributing buildings, three contributing structures, and one contributing object. The district includes the commercial, ecclesiastical, and residential buildings built by the Nellis Coal Company as a planned community between 1920 and 1955.
