New France (french: Nouvelle-France) was the area colonized by France in North America, beginning with the exploration of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence by Jacques Cartier in 1534 and ending with the cession of New France to Great Britain and Spain in 1763 under the Treaty of Paris. Patrice Lauzon (born November 26, 1975) is a Canadian ice dancing coach and former competitor. With his wife Marie-France Dubreuil, he is a two-time (2006–2007) World silver medalist. Personal life Patrice Lauzon was born in Montreal, Quebec, the son of Cecile and Norman Lauzon. He married Marie-France Dubreuil in August 2008. On December 24, 2010, Dubreuil gave birth to their daughter, Billie-Rose. Competitive career Lauzon initially took figure skating classes to improve his hockey skating. He took up ice dancing at the age of twelve. Early in his career, he competed with Marisa Gravino and Chantal Lefebvre. Evans Blue is a Canadian Rock music, rock band from Toronto, founded in 2005. They have sold over one million albums worldwide, including five studio albums and one live album. History Origins (2005) Evans Blue came together in early 2005. Five musicians, then in three separate bands, met through a local musician's message board. Lead singer Kevin Matisyn suggested the name, which refers to the dye that is injected into the bloodstream to measure blood volume. Jérémy Lauzon (born April 28, 1997) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Lauzon was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the second round (52nd overall) in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He also spent time playing for the Seattle Kraken. Jean-Claude Lauzon (September 29, 1953 – August 10, 1997) was a Canadian filmmaker and screenwriter. Born to a working class family in Montreal, Quebec, Lauzon dropped out of high school and worked various jobs before studying film at the Université du Québec à Montréal. His two feature-length films, ''Night Zoo'' (1987) and ''Léolo'' (1992), established him as one of the most important Canadian directors of his generation. Jean-Baptiste Lauzon (March 15, 1858 – June 18, 1944) was a politician in Manitoba, Canada. He served in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba on three occasions: from 1897 to 1899, from 1907 to 1910, and from 1914 to 1915. Lauzon was a member of the Conservative Party. Lauzon was born on March 15, 1858, in Pointe-Claire, Canada East (now Quebec). He was educated at Pointe Claire College, and moved to Manitoba to work as a cattle dealer. He first sought election to the Manitoba legislature in the 1896 provincial election and lost to Liberal candidate James Prendergast in the constituency of St. Boniface, 357 votes to 278. Jean de Lauzon or de Lauson (; 2 January 1586 – 16 February 1666) was the governor of New France from 1651 to 1657, one of the most challenging times for the new colony. He also was born into being the lord of Lirec. As a prominent lawyer in France, in 1613 Lauzon was appointed a counsellor in the Parliament. He served in several government positions, including president of the Grand Conseil, intendant of Provence, then of Guyenne, and of Dauphiné. Lauzon had been developing interests in the colony of New France. He was a founding member and became the director of the Compagnie des Cent-Associés. Guy Lauzon (born April 6, 1944) is a Canadian politician who served as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Stormont—Dundas—South Glengarry from 2004 to 2019 as a member of the Conservative Party. Background Lauzon was born in St. Andrew's West, Ontario and his family roots in the region can be traced to the 19th century. Lauzon is a former city in southern Quebec, Canada, located on the St. Lawrence River northeast of Lévis. Founded in 1867 as a village it became a town in 1910, Lauzon had a population of about 14,500 when it merged with Lévis in 1989. The then-amalgamated city had the name of Lévis-Lauzon for about one year in 1991, before merging again and changing its name for good to Lévis.
