Karachi
Karachi (; ur, ; ; ) is the capital city of the Pakistani province of Sindh. It is the largest city in Pakistan and the 12th largest in the world, with a population of over 20 million. It is situated at the southern tip of the country along the Arabian Sea coast and formerly served as the capital of Pakistan. Ranked as a beta-global city, it is Pakistan's premier industrial and financial centre, with an estimated GDP of over $200 billion ( PPP) . Megacity
A megacity is a very large city, typically with a population of more than 10 million people. Precise definitions vary: the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs in its 2018 "World Urbanization Prospects" report counted urban agglomerations having over 10 million inhabitants. A University of Bonn report held that they are "usually defined as metropolitan areas with a total population of 10 million or more people". Others list cities satisfying criteria of either 5 or 8 million and also having a population density of 2,000 per square kilometre. The terms conurbation, metropolis, and metroplex are also applied to the latter. Karachi South District ( ur, ) is an administrative district of Karachi Division in Sindh, Pakistan. History Karachi South District is the economic backbone of the country. It has Head Offices of many Corporations, Companies and Banks. Chief Secretary House, Governor House, Chief Minister House, Commissioner House, Commissioner Office, Sindh Assembly, High Court, Embassies and Consulates of different countries and other government offices are also located there. 2023 Pakistani Census
The 2023 Census of Pakistan was the detailed enumeration of the Pakistani population and the seventh national census in the country. It was conducted by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. It was also the first ever digital census to be held in Pakistan, including the first in South Asian history. The census was initially held from 1 March 2023 to 1 April 2023. However, enumeration was later extended several times until 30 May 2023, because of incomplete enumeration in large cities such as Karachi, Lahore, and Faisalabad, where people are more mobile and therefore harder to count, and in remote and rural Balochistan. The extension was also used by PBS officials and census takers for quality reviews, to check if all households and people were properly counted in each area. Murtaza Wahab is a Pakistani politician who is the current Adviser to Chief Minister of Sindh on Rules and regulations. He was a member of the Senate of Pakistan from August 2017 to March 2018. Political career On 30 April 2015, he was inducted into the provincial Sindh cabinet of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and was appointed as adviser to the Chief Minister on law. Presently the Karachi Local Government system consists mainly of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation, headed by the Mayor or Administrator. Karachi Metropolitan Corporation () is a public corporation and governing body to provide municipal services in Karachi, the largest city of Pakistan. History 1852 Karachi Conservancy Board was established to control cholera epidemics in Karachi during British rule in 1846. Keamari District ( sd, ڪياماڙي ضلعو, ur, is an administrative district of Karachi Division in Sindh, Pakistan. History Keamari District was created after splitting Karachi West District in 2020. Demographics At the time of the 2017 census, Keamari district had a population of 1,829,837, of which 974,232 were males and 855,383 females. The rural population was 121,954 (6.66%) and urban 1,707,883 (93.34%). The literacy rate is 62.54%: 68.08% for males and 56.10% for females.
