The Dawn is a Filipino rock band which first achieved commercial success during the late 1980s in the Philippines. The band broke up in 1995 with lead vocalist Jett Pangan forming another band, the Jett Pangan Group. The Dawn reunited in late 1999. The Dawn is considered the "longest-lived and most prolific rock band in the Philippines". History Formation and early years (1985–1988) The Dawn was formed in 1985 by Teddy Diaz (vocals and guitars), JB Leonor (drums), and Clay Luna (bass). The band's name was derived from a portrait of the Holy Spirit that symbolized the dawn of a new day (probably found in a book given by the Sisters of the Holy Spirit to Teddy Diaz, as well as a crucifix which Teddy also received from the same sisterhood), called ''The Dawning of the Holy Spirit''. Diaz, Leonor and Luna initially wanted a female vocalist; but in the course of their search, Jett Pangan auditioned and got the trio's unanimous nod. Kamay, Texas
Kamay ( ) is an unincorporated community in Wichita County, Texas, United States. It had an estimated population of 640 in 2000. Kamay is part of the Wichita Falls, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Kamay is located on State Highway 258, twelve miles (19 km) southwest of Wichita Falls in southwestern Wichita County. Its elevation is above sea level. History Development in the area began in 1912 when Joseph A. Kemp, W. Munger, and Reese S. Allen formed a land company that purchased of Wichita River valley land for resale. By the 1920s, investors had turned their attention to oil exploration and the K-M-A Oil Company was established. The name was formed from each of the three principals' last names. The community that developed around the oil fields became known as Kemp City by 1928. Within ten years, more than 100 wells were operating in and around Kemp City. The Kamay Botany Bay National Park is a Heritage register, heritage-listed state park, protected national park that is located in the Sydney metropolitan region of New South Wales, in eastern Australia. The national park is situated approximately south-east of the Sydney central business district, on the northern and southern headlands of Botany Bay.
