Kakarot
Son Goku is a fictional character and the main protagonist of the '' Dragon Ball'' manga series created by Akira Toriyama. He is based on Sun Wukong (known as Son Goku in Japan and Monkey King in the West), a main character of the classic Chinese novel ''Journey to the West'' (16th century), combined with influences from the Hong Kong martial arts films of Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. Goku first made his debut in the first ''Dragon Ball'' chapter, ''Bulma and Son Goku'', originally published in Japan's ''Weekly Shōnen Jump'' magazine on December 3, 1984. The Monkey King, also known as Sun Wukong ( zh, t=孫悟空, s=孙悟空, first=t) in Mandarin Chinese, is a legendary mythical figure best known as one of the main characters in the 16th-century Chinese novel '' Journey to the West'' ( zh, t=西遊記, s=西游记, first=t) and many later stories and adaptations. In ''Journey to the West'', Sun Wukong is a monkey born from a stone who acquires supernatural powers through Taoist practices. , also known by Toei's own English title ''The Strongest Guy in the World'', is a 1990 Japanese animated science fiction martial arts film and the second feature film in the '' Dragon Ball Z'' franchise. ''Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might'', also known by its Japanese title or Toei's own English title ''Super Battle in the World'', is a 1990 Japanese anime science fantasy martial arts film and the third '' Dragon Ball Z'' feature film. Ian James Corlett (born August 29, 1962) is a Canadian voice actor, animator, and author. He is the creator of Studio B Productions' animated series ''Being Ian'' and ''Yvon of the Yukon''. One of his best-known animation roles was the first English voice of adult Goku in the Ocean dub of ''Dragon Ball Z'' in 1996–1997. Career Corlett began his career in 1984.
