Joseph Pearson (1776 – October 27, 1834) was a Congressional Representative from North Carolina. Biography Born in Rowan County, North Carolina, in 1776; completed preparatory studies; studied law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Salisbury, North Carolina; member of the State house of commons from Rowan county in 1804 and 1805; elected as a Federalist to the Eleventh, Twelfth, and Thirteenth Congresses (March 4, 1809 – March 3, 1815). He was elected a member of the American Antiquarian Society in 1814. Pearson died in Salisbury, N.C., October 27, 1834. Joseph Pearson's father was Richmond Pearson, born in Dinwiddie county, Va., who at the age of nineteen years came to North Carolina and settled in the forks of the Yadkin river, late of Davie county when a part of Rowan county. Joseph Pearson FRSE FLS (19 April 1881 – 20 June 1971) was a British-born zoologist and marine biologist associated with Ceylon and Tasmania. Pearson's long-clawed shrew (''Solisorex pearsoni'') is named after him. Life Pearson was born in Yorkshire on 19 April 1881, the son of Daniel Pearson and Cecilia Parr. Joseph Pearson (born 1868) was an English footballer who played as a midfielder. Pearson did not make his league debut until his second season (1889–90) at Bolton Wanderers. Joseph Pearson (cricketer)
Joseph Garside Pearson (26 March 1860 – 18 January 1892) was an English cricketer. Pearson's batting and bowling styles are unknown. He was born at Worksop, Nottinghamshire. Pearson made a single first-class appearance for Nottinghamshire against Surrey at The Oval in 1883. Surrey won the toss and elected to bat, making 236 all out in their first-innings. Pearson bowled 3.1 overs toward the end of the innings, taking the wickets of William Roller, Frederick Johnson, and Ted Barratt, conceding just one run off his bowling. Nottinghamshire responded to Surrey's total by posting 405 all out in their first-innings, with Pearson being dismissed for a single run by Barratt. Surrey reached 112/3 in their second-innings, at which point the match was declared a draw. This was his only major appearance for Nottinghamshire. Joseph Sanders Pearson (born 1975 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian essayist, cultural historian, and journalist. Life Between 1997 and 2001, Pearson received his doctorate in Modern History at the University of Cambridge.
